Question about HP Computers & Internet
How can i replace my lcd screen on my hp w1707 monitor
Same as you would for an HP w1907 monitor,
If that doesn't work as a direct link, (It's a PDF file. May take up to 30 seconds before first page comes up), then use this page from HP Support,
Scroll down to one of the w1907's.
Do not take that metal box shield off, of the motherboard. There is a capacitor, or capacitors, that are holding a charge. Charge is BAD to FATAL.
(Charge is held for weeks, months, many times over a year; after unit has been unplugged from power)
(You did see on the plastic Back Cover, where it states -> Electrocution hazard, and No user serviceable parts, right?)

SOURCE: i cannot unfold the base
Here is a link to the setup poster that shows the base unfolding:
The key is turning the monitor counter-clockwise on the base. Then you can tilt the screen up.

Ordinary Cleaners Can Actually Damage Your Video and Multimedia Equipment
If youre like most home theatre enthusiasts and multimedia users, you want the best possible performance from your equipment. Yet when it comes to cleaning your TVs, camcorders, camera lenses, high definition monitors, and other video displays, you may actually be damaging your equipment and harming performance especially if you use an ordinary window cleaner. While these cleaners can remove most dirt and fingerprints, they usually leave distracting streaks and even permanent scratches. Window cleaners can also drip all the way down a screen and into your equipments moisture-sensitive electronics before you can wipe it off. This can cause expensive damage, and even total equipment failure.

Monsters ScreenClean Delivers a Safe, Cutting-Edge Clean For Enhanced Picture and Performance From Your TVs and Video Equipment
With Monster ScreenCleans advanced, drip-free cleaning solution, you wont have to chase cleaning fluid runs to prevent damage to your expensive TVs and equipment.
