How can i replace my lcd screen on my hp w1707 monitor
Same as you would for an HP w1907 monitor,
http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassembly_monito_200931323546.pdf
If that doesn't work as a direct link, (It's a PDF file. May take up to 30 seconds before first page comes up), then use this page from HP Support,
http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/disassemblymonitors.html?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001#.UXhHK0r3HFx
Scroll down to one of the w1907's.
Do not take that metal box shield off, of the motherboard. There is a capacitor, or capacitors, that are holding a charge. Charge is BAD to FATAL.
(Charge is held for weeks, months, many times over a year; after unit has been unplugged from power)
(You did see on the plastic Back Cover, where it states -> Electrocution hazard, and No user serviceable parts, right?)

SOURCE: i cannot unfold the base
Here is a link to the setup poster that shows the base unfolding:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01368612.pdf
The key is turning the monitor counter-clockwise on the base. Then you can tilt the screen up.
