(1) Check the paper used meets the recommended paper specifications. A rough
surfaced paper, damp paper or thick media can cause the problem.
(2) Check that the appropriate media type is selected in the printer driver.
(3) The problem may disappear by itself. Try printing multiple pages to clear this
problem especially if the machine has not been used for a long time.
(4) The drum unit may be damaged. Install a new drum unit.

Black lines when printing brother 9320cw

Vertical black lines means the printer requires maintenance or a new drum. Horizontal lines means a circuit board with problems.

I do recommend maintenance every 6 months at least.

I hope this helps.

Laser printer horizontal streaks go away after a few pages

The operating principles behind laser printers are fairly simple. In fact, Brother machines more closely resemble large copiers than conventional laser printers, this is why they are so reliable.

There are a couple of things to look at:

On the drum unit: is the imaging drum worn or scratched? When did you last clean the corona wire?

If the drum is scratched or otherwise with defect it should be replaced. If the corona wire is dirty it can fail to properly charge the drum and lead to print defects.

On the toner cartridge: Does the toner roller have any noticeable lines or banding in the toner?

Behind the toner roller is a "Doctor Blade" that ensures an even and consistent coating of toner. If there are lines in it they can produce print defects as well. Lines would be likely caused by toner accumulation on that blade. If there are lines, are you are careful, you may be able to clean the blade by gently and slowly scrubbing the non adhesive end of a post-it note between the toner roller and the doctor blade where the lines are.

Printed sheets come out with blackish/greyish lines on the right side

Use follow these cleaning steps for your printer:

1. Open the front cover of the printer and remove the drum/toner unit.
2. Gently wipe the scanner window with a soft dry cloth. The scanner
window is located on the roof of the inside of the printer.
3. On the top of the drum unit, locate the blue tab on the left side.
Slide it back and forth across the drum about 30 times.
4. Remove the toner cartridge (TN430 or TN460) from the drum unit
(DR400). To remove the toner from the drum: hold down the blue lever on the right side of the drum (DR400) and lift the toner (TN430 or TN460) off of the drum unit.
5. Inside the drum unit (DR400) there is a green roller. Wipe the green
drum roller with a dry tissue (i.e. Kleenex). You may turn this roller
by moving the gears on the far left side.
6. If the pages area gray pages or have gray vertical lines, install a
brand new toner cartridge. If pages have dots, spots, smudges or
horizontal lines, install a brand new drum unit.
OR
If you are still experiencing gray pages or gray vertical lines,
please install a brand new toner cartridge (TN430 or TN460).

Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic drum unitsand/or toner cartridges, or refill their Brother toner cartridge. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability.
The Brotherlimited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the useof unauthorized third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.

My Brother mfc 4800 after changing the drum and toner prints so light that it is almost unusable

Return both and get a fresh batch. You could have gotten a bad drum or toner. But first take out the toner and get her a good shake just to loosen it up if there are any clumps or jams

Remove your drum unit and you will see on top of where the drum unit sits inside your machine is a piece of glass(inside the machine). Wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth. If this do not work, remove your toner cartridge and see if the toner is spread evenly on the cartridge.
