Question about Kenmore 88732 Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Leaking when entering the Rinse/spin cycle

Having a problem with overflow on the spin cycle. All is ok until it goes to rinse/spin. I thought it was a leaking hose, but the machine is overflowing water through the top of the Basket. I took a peak through the side of the machine, and water is being forced out through the top of the basket. Is it something that is clogged? It is 3 years old. Thanks in advance

What is happening is the pump is not pumping the water fast enough. your washer sounds like its a frididaire built washer. there should be a pause where the washer just stops and drains, then go into the spin cycle. so if there is water in the tub and the washer spins it will splash out from the top of the wash tub. you need to make sure the drain is clear, the drain hose is not blocked or kinked, and that the pump is functioning properly. your unit has a electric pump and even though you might hear it running the impellor my be damaged and able to pump the water fast enough.it could be as simple as removing the hose from the bottom of the tub that go's to the pump and removing a sock that found its way in. or just a bad pump. its a simple job to replace it.to get to the pump remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the front panel tilt the washer back a little and slide the panel down. you wil see the pump on the lower left. so check all the things i listed and you should find the problem..Id check the pump first it most likley the problem. good luck

My washing machine top loader once reaches the spin cycle, with 21minutes time remaining, it goes back to rinse and repeats the cycle. What is the problem of my washer and how do I fix it? Thanks

If the washing is not distributed evenly by the time it reaches the rinse/spin cycle, it goes back to rinse cycle. Be present at the machine when it reaches the spin cycle. observe the drum to see if it is of balance and swaying to the sides, if so distribute washing evenly. Usually happens if there is a big garment or more with smaller items,

My LG front loading washer makes a train noise during the rinse cycle. What could be the cause?

if it is right after the drain cycle; it then goes into a spin. It then starts to fill with water for the rinse while the tub is still turning. The water entering the tub while the tub is spinning, cleans the tub of soap and the water going through the holes in the tub are causing the noise. It is normal if only in the rinse cycle.

Hi, our simpson enduro 701 washing machine does not spin back and forward in the deep rinse cycle. but operates ok and spins in spin cycle. thankyou Tina.

Hi Tina just read your posting. From the information in your posting the machine fills, then when the machine is full of water the agitator moves clockwise then anticlockwise until it gets to the rinse cycle then drains the water ,then it fills for the rinse cycle but does not move the agitator in the rinse cycle. Then it drains and spins the clothes dry .Is this assessment of your posting correct. If it is not 100% correct please reply to tell me what the machine is doing or not doing. If it is correct then the problem with your machine is the control board. Is your model the electronic one with the push buttons?Looking forward to your reply.

When washer goes into the rinse cycle it won't fill it contue to try and fill but won't

Check your manual. Some washers don't fill when they rinse, instead, they spray rinse. While the tub spins, they spray water in every few seconds until the cycle is completed. This is also how the second rinse works on a lot of models.

Washer is leaking out of overflow tube

first
check the drainage pipe, the hose goes into and make sure its not clogged, once you know there are no obstructions reattach the drain hose. be sure it goes a couple of inches into the pipe but has a little space for air flow between hose and pipe. I this doesnt fix the problem the hose made need to be raised, it should enter the pipe several inches higher than the washer. Hope this helps

I have a kenmore heavy duty, series 70,# 82872120.. It makes a humming noise and will not complete the rinse cycle or the spin cycle.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.82872120

If it goes through the agitate cycle, the motor and transmission are probably OK.

If it goes through the initial drain / spin cycles after the first agitate cycle, the Lid Switch is also OK.

The humming could likely be the timer motor. Try to manually move the timer to the rinse cycle. If the washer responds, the problem points to the timer itself.

See the sub component section on the Sears site for the Console.

The "Alt" part numbers are Whirlpool parts that can likely be purchased from a variety of on line or local parts stores.

I was an idiot and put dishsoap in the dishwasher because I ran out of regular dishwasher soap. Now the dishwasher keeps overflowing with bubbles. I keep wiping all the bubbles and extra water out but...

you must rinse all the soap out the best way is to make the drain hose lower than the tub of the washer and run the garden hose into the drum and slowly rotate the drum as you rinse it out after a complete rinse you should run a rinse and spin cycle a few times and you should be fine.
