SOURCE: I have an Echo Edger PE 200. The edger will not idle.

hi rgiles_5050

Adjust your idle speed with the idle screw located on the carb...if that does not solve your problem then take your carb off and clean it again because you have some debris/dirt in the low speed circuit, this time make sure to blow all the jet holes out with compressed air to blow out any wedged in dirt

Echo trimmer wont start, i replaced fuel line and filter, spark plug still wont start

Krissie, there should be two fuel lines. also take the spark plug out and pull the cord a few times to blow out any gas or whatever out of the cylinder. then put the plug in the spark plug boot and pull it a few times holding the plug head next to the engine block to see if it has any spark. if it don't probably the coil or switch is bad, if it has spark put the plug back in and give the opening of the carburetor a squirt of carburetor cleaner and try to start it. it should start then. if it does and dies the carburetor needs to be cleaned or rebuilt.

Echo PE-2601 gas edger gets hot and shuts off, then after cool down starts back up

sounds like the spark plug is breaking down at hot temps. replace it. if that dont work the coil is going bad

No spark in 2 stroke engine

If you have checked the switch, the switch wire and fitted a new plug, you must face the fact the ignition unit itself requires replacement ( assuming it has electronic ignition ) if it has contact breaker points you may need to clean/replace the points.

During operation my Echo SRM??? string trtimmer it will electrically shock me when my arm gets near the spark plug wire.

Hi, the sparkplug cap may have a split in it, you can buy a new one and replace it quite easily. Some caps will still shock you even if not split. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

SRM 2000a echo whipper snipper Not starting tried new spark plug and fuel.

Small engines have three systems. 1-ignition 2-compression 3-fuel
if you have spark at the plug and fuel gets to the engine the issue is in the engine compression system. I recommend pulling off the muffler and looking for scratches or scoring.
If you need to replace parts find a dealer like to assist.

Echo GT 2000 does not have spark and will not start. Checked fuel lines, ok, replaced spark plug, ok. checked for spark at plug, no spark.

Your ignition module is probably bad. The part may be as much as $35, but you might want to double check.

Echo SRM 1501 trimmer has minimal fire. Feels very slight, will not fire thru plug

If this is a solid state ignition ( black box mounted right next to the fly wheel)check for rust on fly wheel and coil/ignition.Sand with light grit sand paper if nessesary. Make sure to reistall with the same gap between the two parts.note the gap at this point could also be wrong. Also check to see if the clip inside the boot where the spark plug conects is not bent and that it is conecting properly. If this is a points ignition system then its basicaly the same steps.Clean contact pionts check plug boot for good contact. Or could be bad coil.Be sure you are using a plug with the propor heat range.
