HP Business Jet 2800 stall error message

I recently purchased a used HP Business Jet 2800 printer. After installation it displays on the printer message center either "carriage stall" or "print motor stall" press resume to continue. Pressing resume does not solve the problem. It further suggests turning the printer off if resume doesn't work, but this doesn't solve the problem either.

i recently purchased my 2800 and have a similar problem. It will print okay for a few days, then will be printing a page and when almost to the end, and error message of "carriage stall " will come on the screen and the page will stop comming out. I pull the page out and then punch the resume button, and a blank page comes out. Then I can print again for a while until the same thing reoccurs. We have reinstalled and cleaned the printheads, and done everything we can think of. Its okay for a while, then starts again. Also is a squeek on the paper rollers, which makes it sound like an old printer. The squeek seems to reoccur at about the same time as the stall starts happening. jpeters1@san.rr.com

Clean encoder strip with clean water, clean rod with denatured alchol you can get at Home Depot and lube with Synthetic Lubricant that you can purchase at a gun shop for about $4.

Sir

I already fix this problem after a long time
the problem in the WHITE mechanism located at the left side of the printer, under the carriage, and at the end of the steel plate under the carriage.
this mechanism have to be in a free movement (backward and forward not left and right)
you just push this mechanism by your finger forward and you will lose it from its stuck location
for any more question about this issue, just contact me at walid_sayed@Hotmail.com

Maybe there is a problem in your service station. main cause of that is the ink that spill on the area on the service station stockup

Where as I think you must re-install your printer's driver. Because sometime the driver of printer is blocked or not working well. Moreover, after re-installing the driver, you must update that driver.

Unfortunately the page you are trying to reach is not a valid page. As an HP tech I searched internal for a firmware update on that model and there isnt one available.

Error message on HP 2800 business inkjet, message reads 1% ink left on brand new cartridge

Hello,

View the user manual here. http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00449611/c00449611.pdf

go to page 60 and follow the instructions for replacing the ink cartridge, remember to have the printer on when you do.

Then go to page 62 and allign the print head automaticly following the instructions it gives.

This will re-callibrate the ink level on the printer and should read correctly for you.

Thanks

Hp 2800 Printer

The best way top get usage info is to print a Configuration page. It will show the print head health, ink levels and recent errors like paper jams and firmware errors.

With the printer on, press the (check mark) select button on the control panel, when "Information Menu" is highlighted, hit select again. Press the Down Arrow button until "Print Configuration Page" is highlighted, then hit the Select button.

Cannot connect using Appletalk protocol

Given that this issue is three years old, and AppleTalk protocol is no longer even supported, it probably should be laid to rest.
