Tryin to find the size of the seatpost

Bicycle seatposts are measured in tenths of millimeters. A typical size might be 26.4mm. Because of this you should either A) remove your old seatpost and saddle and bring it to a bike shop or B) measure the diameter of your seatpost with a pair of metric calipers, preferable digital. You can buy them for under $20 from someplace like Harbor Freight. Suspension seatposts tend to come in one (smaller diameter) size and are fittted with the appropriate size shim. Another possibility is an adjustable shim, make just for bicycle seatposts. I highly recommend your local bike shop.

To heavy

you can drill holes in the handlebars through the center piece, or chop off part of the seat post that isn't being used and drill holes in the seatpost where it is used. other than that buying lighter parts is the only way to go

Huffy mx 80 can you higher the seat.

Raising the seat is limited to how much seatpost you have available.

To determine the amount of seat height you have available you need to pull the whole assembly out of the frame. At the junction of the frame and seatpost there is a bolt, loosen that bolt and lift straight up and the assembly will come out. On the end of the seatpost where it inserts into the frame look for a limit line. Insert the assembly back into that line and that is the maximum height the seat can go.

If you need it higher you will need to purchase a new seatpost from yoiur local bike shop. Make sure you take them either the bike or seatpost as they come in many different sizes and they must match diameters exactly.

I was given an iron horse tandem and need to change out the rear seat post. It is called a Tango and there is no size marked on either seatpost. Is there a standard size?

Since Iron Horse has gone out of business it is very difficult to find specific information on any one particular model. Their website for resource no longer exists. There is not a standard size for seatposts. There are seatposts ranging from 25.0 to 36.8 and beyond. If the seatpost does not have a head it is a straight post and tapers to a smaller diameter that a clamp goes on (IE. cruiser or BMX seatpost) these only come in a couple sizes and lengths. There are standard posts that will fit but the seat may not match the clamp.

The best method for determining the size of the seatpost is too take the bike into a bike shop. Most decent shops have a tool that they can drop into the seat tube and determine the exact size and then of course offer up what options are available.

The other method is too take in just the seatposts and they can measure those and order off of what you are looking for.

The reason too take in the whole bike is that if you are looking for longer there are additional issues that the shop mechanic can look at and determine the actual seatpost length you will need. If you need a post that is over 450mm long, then you will be very limited in brands and most likely the bike will not fit the rider. That sort of thing.

Bmx bike has no seat post how do i put a seat on ?

You will have to buy a seatpost, either pivotal or railed depending on your seat. A railed seat has two rails underneath it, and needs a railed seatpost. A pivotal seat has a prism with teeth cut into it on the bottom, and requires a pivotal seatpost.

Seat post size for 98 dyno nitro 24 bmx bicycle

start with the seatpost itself, most of them have the size stamped on them below the minimum insertion hash marks. It is almost always measured in metric, millimeters usually, like: 25.4mm (which is 1 inch).

If the size is not stamped on the seatpost (it was most likely cut off or scratched beyond recognition) then you can measure the diameter in inches, multiply by 2.54 to get the metric measurement in centimeters, multiply that by .10 to get millimeters and then call your local bike shop for a replacement.

Dyno bikes are made by GT, it was there "budget" brand of BMX bikes, so you can google GT bikes and find a local dealer or you may be able to order direct from GT. From the year of your model, most likely the bike is steel (cro-moly or hi-ten) and these bikes normally have a smaller seatpost size, like the above mentioned 25.4mm. Aluminum frames usually have larger diameter tubes with thinner wall thickness and will require a larger diameter seatpost.

I cannot install the bike seat pole into the bike

First, you need to make sure that this is the correct size seatpost. There are many different diameters of seatposts and you need to be sure this is the correct size. If you have a set of calipers or a micrometer you can measure the inside diameter of the frame and the outside diameter of the seatpost. if you don't have these tools you can take it to your local bike shop. If you are certain that this is the correct seatpost it may be that you just have some rust on the post that can be taken off with sandpaper or steel wool. Put a little anti sieze compound on the post, slip it into the frame and tighten the bolt. good luck

Raising seat on x games bmx bike

A good bike shop will sell you a new seat post. You should take the bike with you as the posts come in different diameters. They can also cut it to the proper length for you if you don't have the tools.
