IBM ThinkPad laptop number/letter keys stuck

I have an IBM Thinkpad laptop for work.I brought it home to work at home and I tried to press some of the letter keys and I get numbers. Such as when I press the letter M, I get 0. I went to the Accessibility Options and turned off Sticky Keys and even rebooted but it didn't take of the problem. I even tried to press the Numlock key to no avail.I'm really stumped. Can you help? I'm writing from my MAC......

Hmmm...ok, I am guessing that perhaps you are using a docking station and/or an external keyboard at work? If so, you might want to try this:

    1) Re-boot your computer.
    2) As soon as the first screen shows up (the one before the Windows screen), press F1 on your keyboard.
    3) Go to "Config". You'll have to use your arrow keys.
    4) Choose Keyboard/Mouse.
    5) Select the ThinkPad NumLock and make sure it is set to "Independent".
    6) Press F10 to save and exit.

**NOTE: At any time during this procedure, if you have accidentally changed something and you are not sure about what you have done, just press ESC to quit. Also, if this is a work computer, you may be locked out from the BIOS setting. If this is the case, ask your IT folks to let you in.

Anyway, hope this helps! There are other solutions, but they are better left to your IT folks.

sounds like a faulty keyboard to me, I recommend removing the keyboard, and blowing out the connector with a can of air and reinstalling the keyboard. if that does not work I would connect a USB keyboard to make sure it is not a setting. If a USB keyboard is working fine, replace the keyboard.

Why did the subscript numbers of the keyboard are entered instead of letters? how can i change it?

This can happen if the Fn (function key) is held down while the scroll key (number lock) is pressed. Try holding the Fn key down and press the scroll key to see if the letters free up.

When the RH side of the keboard types numbers instead of letters then the Num Lock (number lock) key has been pressed.
Press the Num Lock Key again to return to letters again, usually this is usually done by pressing the Shift key plus the ScrLk (Scroll lock) key, this key will be also marked NumLk, and there will be a LED light that will indicate when the number lock is on.

There is a num lock key. Press Fn Num Lock (I believe it is the scroll lock key on this particular keyboard).
