Install RadarSync and scan your computer with it. It seems that the driver for the video went bad. Updating it would fix the issue. There are also some other drivers which might have affected your computer. By using RadarSync, all drivers will be taken care off.
A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.
do you know how to reset the bios? open the case and look for the jumpers on the motherboard. swop the jumpers around and reseet the CMOS battery. Try that and let me know:) Alt try reseeting your RAM and Graphics card
Try a different monitor, I am sure this sounds overly simplistic to you but, I have seen in my customers have just that, a bad monitor. If another monitor does the same thing, then you should try another video card.If the video in on the motherboard, there should be a AGP, PCI-e, or an empty PCI slot to put a video card in.
