Have an older (OLD) HP 7125 Pavilion that refuses to boot. Error message indicates that the hard drive can not be found. Is it possible to bring it back to life by replacing the hard drive and reloading Windows 95?

Insert boot disc error on hp pavillion a622n

Boot disc error indicates that your computer is unable find any Operating system to boot up. Go to BIOS settings and figure out if your BIOS detects your hard drive. If so, format your hard drive and install an operating system.

I would love to hear from you in regards to this concern.

I installed a new WD 500GB hard drive in an HP Pavilion 513n as a master and have a 60 GB hard drive as a slave for backup data. Both are set to auto in the BIOS. Every time I turn the computer on even...

I think, in BIOS setting your first booting device is the 60GB HDD. change it to HDD0 as 1st boot, CD Drive as 2nd boot and HDD1 as third boot device and it would not ask any error report.

I have a hp laptop at the time of boot it is displaying a message error 200: fixed hard disk failure 0 and it can't boot

Could be either a bad hard drive or the hard drive controller. best way is to download the hard drive test from the manufacturer of the hard drive and test it.

My old hdd does not work on my hp pavilion gx823,it comes up press f11 to continue and nothing else happens

If you're not using the operating system from your old drive, go into your bios (usually by pressing Del, F1, F2, F10 or F12 when the computer starts) and set your first boot device to the original hard drive for your pavillion. This may be found in 'boot device priority' or a similar label in your bios.

Hp pavillion zt1170 - not booting

You have lost your operating system and/ or you hard drive went bad. Try reformatting your hard drive and them reinstalling your operating system. If it reinstalls, try booting up your computer. Turn it off afterwards, wait a bit, then try booting it up again. If it still boots up, then you are good to go. But if it doesn't boot up, or it doesn't boot up after you restart your computer, then your hard drive is bad, and it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Smart report hard drive failure iminent

Hey 72cobrajet,

If you are receiving this kind of error message, it can often be an indicator that a self-diagnostic tool has determined that your computer may be suffering from a hardware failure.

Whenever your computer starts up, it performs a self-test to ensure that everything is working properly. If your computer detects anything out of the ordinary, it generally prompts you with an error message indicating what the problem may be.

While your computer may seem to function normally at this time, I would strongly suggest backing up any necessary information as soon as possible to avoid any potential loss.

In some instances, you may be able to determine the exact reason why you are receiving an error message by using a software tool developed by either Microsoft or the hard drive manufacturer itself. Please keep in mind however, that you may receive more detailed and product-specific support when using a manufacturer-developed diagnostic utility over Microsoft's CHKDSK.

If you are unsure how to use any these programs and are still under the manufacturer's warranty, you may wish to contact HP directly for further assistance. Additionally, if you would prefer to not work directly with HP, you may always bring your computer into your local Best Buy™ store for warranty service and support.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Laptop receiving message: No operating system found

That error usually indicates one of two things, your file system is corrupt and the master boot record or partition tables have corrupted.... or, in light of a liquid being spilled, some possibly got into the laptop.

I'm not sure right off the top of my head, but I think the hard drive has an access door on the bottom. Which you can remove a couple screws to remove the cover. I would visually inspect under that cover, and other covers if any while your at it, to check for any signs that liquid got in it.
