Question about AMD ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ( Sold Out) (ASA8N32) Motherboard
Rig has worked fine for a year, i paused a game, came back to find blue screen with exceptional error showing. i have 2 opticals on ide2, 160g ide hdd on ide1 but also 2 x 80g sata hdd. Now the comp wont startup because XP is on one of the sata drives and none of the sata drives are being recognised anymore. Swapped sata hdd to spare m/c with their cables etc they are seen fine, Been into BIOS, settings are set to sata enabled ok, Cleared the CMOS and checked settings again, none of the four sata sockets seem to be working. Its been suggested i should flash an updated BIOS, is that a likely solution?

Many times this problem is due to incorrect cable connections. Check your manual for correct cable connections of devices to IDE1 and IDE2. More than one drive may be connected to each cable but master devices for each channel must be connected in a certain manner on each cable.
