How to check service tag on supermicro servers

AFAIK Supermicro is not using Service tags like Dell or Lenovo. Instead they go by serial numbers. The location of the serial number depends on the type of the server:
Blade serial number (SBI... or SBA...) is located on the side
Blade Enclosure serial number (SBE...) is located on the rear side
CMM (chassis management module) serial number (SBM...) is located next to the latch
Rack-mountable chassis serial number is located on side of chassis by the sliding rail
4U Tower Chassis serial number sticker is located on the bottom side
Rack-mountable Systems' Serial Number is located at the rear side by I/O panel
Embedded Systems' Serial Number is located on the I/O panel

Hard disk not present in bios

Hello try to download, the user manual here:

By selecting: sattelite, and the full model number.

The number is located under the pc.

You're going to have to look around in BIOS for a setting to enable the SATA controller. You may also have to set it to "IDE mode"

But the harddrive could have a fault, try with a new harddrive.

Good luck

How i know the warranty expire data'

Do you have the serial number for the server unit?

That will be mostly at the back of the computer. You will find a bar code sticker, below the bar code sticker you will find the serial number.

Either you could put the serial number on the HP website or you could just reply me back with the serial number, i will find the warranty for you and let you know...

Will a Dell 2500 server motherboard be used on a Dell 1800 server

The model numbers are so far apart, there's 700 digits between and with each of those probably 2-3 sub models (1800a, 1820a/b/c 1900, etc., 2490a, 2490b, 2500) and since then, probably 7 years ago, even memory has changed so I doubt they are the same motherboard. Your motherboard should have a name printed on it in white ink, plus you can probably search google for keywords such as
Dell 1800 motherboard
Dell 2500 motherboard
and find your answer or look for replacement parts online, with a goal of finding the motherboard brand & part number.

If you go to you can select your systems or have your systems scanned to see if memory is the same. It might even tell you what motherboard, but it's doubtful.

There are also programs that can scan your system and tell you what components are installed, but all in all, looking at the motherboard yourself is the best way, and without a doubt, will leave little chance of incorrect ID.

Hi i have a dell poweredge 2850. Orange LED blinking

It sounds like a hard disk has failed or fallen out of sync.
This can be a serious problem if not addressed ASAP.

Call Dell, they have lifetime phone support for their servers.

Write down the Express Service Code and Service Tag number that is on the server chassis before you call.
This is the last number I used for server support: (800) 945-3355
If it doesn't work you should be able to find a valid number at

I hope this helps.
