Want to hook up CD player to Squire powered mixer, 4 channel

How is the best way to hook up a CD player to the Squire 4 channel powered mixer for use in playing background tracks for solo work. Also, can a floor monitor be used so that only tracks will come through and not have the mic in the mix? I am not technically literate, so need simple answers please!!

follow this instructions and fix it. God bless you
Instructions

Plug one end of a shielded input cable into the mixer's main output, and the other end into the crossover's input. The cable connectors will be dictated by your particular mixer and crossover, and will be either standard 1/4" or 3-pin XLR connectors. Consult the owner's manual of all components for specific details and recommendations.

    • 2
Plug another shielded input cable into the crossover "high" frequency output, and the other into the crossover's "low" frequency output.

    • 3
Plug the cable coming from the crossover "high" output into the channel one input on the stereo power amp, and the cable from the crossover "low" output into the channel two input of the power amplifier.

    • 4
Plug one end of the unshielded speaker cable into the power amp channel one speaker output, and the other end into the horn tweeter.

    • 5
Plug one end of the second unshielded speaker cable into the power amp channel two speaker output, and the other end into the woofer. The connections are now complete.

C how can I conect my loptop to the mixer so i can play the music from my computer

To connect your laptop to your mixer, first you need to buy a mini plug to 2-RCA cable, like the one in the figure below:

mike_lm_2.jpg
Then connect the two RCA plugs to one channel, using the inputs marked LINE or CD, as shown by the red arrows in the figure below:

mike_lm_3.jpg
Let us say that you already have two CD units connected to channels 1 and 2. Connect the cable mentioned above to the two RCA jacks of Channel 3.

Now, connect the mini plug to the sound output of your laptop (it should be merked LINE OUT, PHONES or have the symbol of a phone close to it). If the output is dinamically addressed, i.e., the sound driver pops up a windows asking what have you connected to that input, please mark the answer that indicates LINE OUT or HEADPHONES (or something related, but not LINE IN or MICROPHONE).

Adjust your laptop volume to LOW. Switch on your mixer, select the channel you connected the laptop and increase its volume. Put a song in your laptop to play and raise its volume little by little, till you have a good level of sound with no distortion

A word of caution: If you adjust the laptop volume to maximum, distortion could occur, so experiment with the laptop volume to find the best level.

Hope this info may help you!

I have a Sony receiver and I want to hook up a cd player and a dvd player to play at the same time. How do I get the volume on the dvd player as loud a the cd paye?

You need to plug the audio from both devices into a audio mixer, you buy an inexpensive mixer from Radio Shack, or maybe Best Buy, or etc. This is the only way you can get both into your amp at the same time and control the volume of each

You would need a Stereo jack to RCA cable. Input into Aux channel in rear, make sure your switch on faceplate is set to Aux. You may also need to turn up volume on the ipod.

I cant connect my pc to my mixer for karaoke

Ronnie, The numark mixer will not project CD+G graffix on the pc. You can only send the audio from the mixer to the pc. To use karaoke on the pc you need files that re MP3+CDG or CD+G discs. Most karaoke systems only support TVs through a video line usually RCA connections. In order to get video to your PC you need a video card or TV tuner card installed. Most people use it in the reverse having their music files on the PC and then streaming to the mixrer and then the audio speakers. Winamp with MEXP and the CD+G plug installed should work nicely for you. Let me know if I can help further I have been a mobile DJ for 20+ years

Hooking up sound system

The RSQ player goes into the input section of the mixer.
The mixer effect send goes to the Quadraverb input and the output of the Quadraverb goes back to the effect in on the mixer. Now the Main out on the mixer goes to the EQ then the EQ goes to the compressor/limitor to power amp to speakers.

I have a Yahmaha MG12/4 mixer or whatever and a speaker

heres a link to the manual for your mixer (big file)

http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/pa/english/mixers/MG16_4E.pdf

to connect a guitar to a mixer you really should have DI box (direct injection) its matches the imbalances between the mixer and guitar for proper operation. If you have a guitar pedal this usually works as well. but if you just want to make it work plug the guitar into a channel input NOT INSERT. hope that helps
