Micromaster is correct. Make sure you have all of your music / vids/ etc. backed up. Take it to an Apple Store (make sure you make an appointment online first). They'll swap the ipod right then and there.

Make sure the ipod looks really clean otherwise they'll say that YOU caused the damage.

If they refuse to swap the ipod you can fix it yourself for less than $50.

Let us know what happens.

Please don't bother rating my solution unless you're hooking me up with a Green or Blue rating.

Thanks!

Hi!

Try to reset the ipod by pressing Center and Play/pause button for more than 10 seconds or until apple logo appears on the screen.

And, if that doesn't resolves your issue then check for other videos/movies. Is the line visible everytime you watch the movie or it is there when you switch on your ipod?

Thanks

Try resetting the unit, if you still get the line, then the problem is either lcd screen or lcd ribbon cable.

As I told you a static white line in the middle of the screen is not a setting or a software problem.

the line can be caused by:

    Defective LCD ribbon cable.

    Defective LCD display.

    Faulty video chipset on IPod.

The first two are far more common and are repairable, for the last one you need to replace Ipod mainboard.

Bose sounddock no longer playing music

The problem is with all those little electrolytic capacitors. They look like little cans. There on the middle board. What happens is they dry out just like batteries. I fixed one for like 7 dollars plus shipping from Digikey. If you want you can use an ESR meter to check them, but don't bother. The Circuit board is the middle board. Not the board that has the connector that the ipod plugs into, or the board the speakers plug into, its the one in the middle of the two. Yes you can charge your ipod but it won't play music. Also check all the pins on the connector that the ipod plugs into, sometimes the solder joint breaks and needs to be soldered.

I just bought the ipod nano 6th generation and it will not charge in the Bose docking system....my old one charges with no problem.....is there a fix for this? The nano plays fine it just wont charge

If it is a different model iPod then it is likely the Bose dock does not support the newer model. Quite often changes such as from iPhone 3 to iPhone 4, Bose had to release a new dock. The speakers and music will still always work, but the support will be limited for charging. Unfortunately you will not be able to fix this, other than upgrade the dock, or go back to your old ipod.

i think your vertical IC ( if vertical lines are shown) / horizontal IC ( if horizontal lines are shown) of your monitor has damaged. you may contact a mechanic and change the corresponding IC

I have a Sonic Impact V55 Video player and a new 160GB Ipod. Anyway to get the video to work on it?

Absolutely, I have this myself. My 5th Gen works great, but the 160GB would not show movies, just played music. Apple has an adapter cable set that allows you to hook your Ipod to your TV. $50 buy it! You can charge and watch your stuff on your flat screen. It also unlocks your Ipod TV out setting for your Video 55. Set you IPOD video setting to TV Out: on, select your movie and play. Plug in the IPOD nip to your Ipod then set your Ipod into the Video 55. A bit of a pain but works flawlessly. If you select a different movie you have to do this all over again.

If you have the harmon kardon receiver, check out this reasonably priced system. You can actually find it cheaper than at this website but I have these speakers and, when paired with the Klipsch sub-woofer, it makes movie watching an unbelievable experience.

No picture no sound

Did you mean the picture is collapsed only in the middle horizontally(white line appears on the middle part of the screen)?
If that is the case, maybe vertical IC failed or loose connection.
