Hello there, I would unplug the unit and allow it to be off for over 24 hours and that should cause the memory to be gone, including the Vchip code where the TV set goes back to the manufacture's settings.
Its always best to write down codes for future refer.

Most likely, the tape has been coded with a "R" rating or something that the Vchip in the TV/VCR is blocking due to a prior ratings lock. Look up model or call service and find master reset code, like 0000 or similiar to get VCR vchip back to factory default of no locks.

Here's your answer - Hold the down volume control on the TV. Then press the remote # 0. This will bring up the reset password menu. Then reset the password. We need a kid to solve are problems.
