Question about Acer Aspire 3000 3005WLMI Notebook
I have an HP Compaq Presario home PC (Feb.2006) with the typical Sempron 3400+ 2GHZ processor and 1.28GB ram and the ASUS A8AE-LE (Amberine M-GL6E) motherboard. This problem exhibits as a ''slow response'' to UP SHIFTING (caps) and / or forward or backspacing when typing text in any mode wheather it be text in ''office'' or typical e-mails via net. I have tried 3 different keyboards (2--PS 2 & 1--USB) and ALL keyboards exhibit this same and ''very irritating'' problem. When shifting for upper case I (usually) have to hold the the shift key down for several seconds before it shifts to upper case. I find myself forever going back and having to ''re-type'' and/or change figures to the selected upper case modes. I have tried ( I think) ''everything''! The computer for the mostpart works ok otherwise--**except for (1) recurring ''file/path'' error which gets corrected with my registry cleaner, but returns ''every time'' at boot-up, but I don't think this is a related problem to my keyboard latency issue??? ANY help or leads would be more than greatly apprecited!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!
I have a similar problem, only all keys have to be held down for .5 to a couple seconds before they register.
Also, there is something running in the background eating up 30-40% of cpu cycles, doesn't show in task manager though. I ran sysinternals process explorer and it shows 30-40% cpu allocated to Defrred Procedure calls :: PID n/a
Also, malware has switched off my firewall a few times and then was not able to access firewall properties in Control Panel. Ad-Aware, MS live One and latest AVG have detected nothing at all.
I am on WinXP Home SP3
Anyone heard of such behaviour before? I think I got it over Outlook. Pointers to the right direction would be greatly appreciated, I've been pulling my hair for hours..
I have theory, I think you may have some virus, and it's transmitting very thing you type to another PC, causing latency and using up resources.
I would suggest trying every virus scanner possible, like Symantecs online scanner, downloading any other scanners possible, and for good measure download another firewall protection, because if you can't access your firewall properties that would probably mean it's truned it off and trying to get other viruses in there.
