Re: i want to unlock my tmobile blackberry pearl for free
You need to call which ever provider is listed on your phone, which in your case is T-mobile. Tell them you need to have your phone unlocked. They will do it for free, no questions asked. I just did this about a week ago. You're all set after that. As for other providers, I'm not sure if they do it or not. I actually had an AT&T phone and called T-Mobile and they unlocked it for me.

Well if you are tied to a particular network all you have to do is call up the customer help line of the service provider and ask them for the unlocking code, which will be provided to you for a nominal amount of money. You can also get the unlock code through online..........i will suggest the website http://www.blackberryunlockingcodes.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website.
If you have the peal 8100 that means you currently have it locked to Tmobile. If you need to use it with any other carrier, call tmobile 611. Tell them that you are traveling overseas and need your pearl to be used with with international SIM cards. They will unlock it for you for free. They will send you the code that needs to be put on the phone.
The MEP code is the same thing as a subsidy unlock code. The codes are specific to each IMEI. Meaning at&t could not unlock a T-mobile device and vice versa. You first need to find out which carrier has locked it to their network, then call them and ask for the code. I am not sure what the other carriers do, but at&t will unlock a phone bought from a third party as long as it is either a new at&t device (att in lower case) or a Cingular device and the IMEI does not appear on an active account, whether it be in write-off status or not.
sorry but the only way thatt it could possibly work is if you got blackberry unlocked for any gsm network but even on a prepaid service with the blackberry you lose the privilage of internet, picture message, and email.
contact your service provider if you need to unlock the sim to use it with another carrier....it will take a few days to get the code back if they have tot contact the manufacterer....but you need the 16 diget code......after you get that, go to options, advanced options, sim card, type MEPPD. scroll to sim card, type MEP and pres the ALT key and then the 2 key.
if that doesnt work, instead of typing MEP2, try pressing and holding the ATL key and type MEPPE
if this works, a window will pop up asking for the unlock code....
