SOURCE: Flooding walbro carb from blower.

The problem centers around the carburetor. The question lies in the condition and operation of the carb initially.
It appears you may need to double check your assembly of diaphragms and gaskets. check for loose welch plugs, adjustment needles in the wrong holes, inlet needle set too high.

*note: metering side diaphragm goes on top of the gasket, fuel pump diahragm has the gasket on top of it.

HUSQI 22R TRIMMER, WALBRO WY CARB. Before and after a new kit too much fuel causing immediate flood out. This happened suddenly during use. As said, a new kit did not resolve the problem.

Hi and wlecome to FixYa, I am Kelly,
A couple of things cause this:
1. Damaged Float valve / needle tip (rubber missing or torn)
0r
2. Debris uner the float valve needle not allowing the rubber of the needle to contact the seat.

Remove the lower diaphragm again... unscrew the float needle hinge pin and drop the needle out of place. Look for a damaged needle tip or damaged needle seat in the body of the carb. Clean out any debris and the mainifold to where the main fuel line connects from the tank. If the needle or seat is damaged replace them.

Before you re-install the diaphragm hook up the main fuel line, turn on the fuel to the carb. The needle and seat should prevent fuel flow until the float valve needle lever is gently depressed.
The float valve lever should NOT extend beyond the base of the carb. If it does it will overflow. Any adjustments to the float valve actuation lever are done in thousandths of an inch. Most of the time to get it right you may have to install the carb base and test fuel flow a few times.

This should resolve the problem. If not...Download the carb service manual / repair manual for your carb here: http://wem.walbro.com/distributors/servicemanuals/WYseries.pdf
Thanks for choosing Fixya,
Kelly

Craftsman 2 cycle blower stalls.

Hello,

Most Probably the problem lies in the adjustment of the carburettor. There are two needles in the carb one for lowend adjustment and one for high end adjustment. Your lowend adjustment seems fine. The highend needle needs to be adjusted. Following are some very detailed procedures for adjusting these types of carbs

http://tech.flygsw.org/walbro_tuneup.htm

http://www.drystacked.com/Walbro%20Carburetor%20Theory%20ebook1.pdf

If your machine has a carb other than a "Walbro" dont worry the procedures are same. I am sure if your engine has not completed its life span this will solve your problem.

I rebuilt the Walbro carb on a Pioneer 1074

Go to: www.drystacked.com for a 12 page PDF document that describes, explains theory, and servicing this line of carburetors. Note the precaution on placing the gasket in the lower chamber. After presetting the H and L jet needles, start the engine and allow to warm up. Open full throttle and adjust the H needle CW to allow the engine to 4-stroke, but will immediately 2-stroke when starting to cut wood. Adjust L needle CW to allow fairly smooth idle, but will allow the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Hope this helps!

If the float don't float, the needle valve stays open and gas runs into crankcase.

If float floats (has no gas inside) then the needlel is probably worn and needs replacement.
