There is a lens inside the printer that has a speck of dust on it. If you pull the Drum cartridge (the green handle) look straight down on the side closest to the fornt you will see a glass peice about 6"x3/8". Dust on this will create a streak like your describing. Do not touch this with your hand! Use a lint free cloth or better a can of dust spray be sure not to tip the can so that the solution sprays out, do not blow on it with your mouth either. You may spit on it! You can usually see the speck of dust. Get it removed and you should be fine.

This totally solved my problem, I have a Magicolor 2530dl and I bought after market cartridges, I thought, that's what I get for buying cheaper cartridges, but cleaning the glass lens was all it needed.

Thank You.

White streaks and double printing

Usually when a printer can't feed paper evenly anymore, it's worn out. As long as you are using fresh paper and not over or under loading the paper tray, the rollers should feed the paper ok.

Note: To print the current head position adjustment values, select Head alignment print in the Maintenance menu and press the OK button. See Selecting Menus on the Top Menu Screen.)
- Select Yes, and press the OK button to print alignment sheet.
- Check the pattern is printed correctly, select Yes and press OK button.

The Print head alignment screen appears.

4. Adjust the print head position.

Note: If it is difficult to select the best pattern, select the pattern that has the least noticeable white streaks.
(A) Less noticeable vertical white streaks
(B) Noticeable vertical white streaks

(D) Noticeable horizontal white streaks

Why does my epson stylus 1400 leave streaks in the print?

The tracking wheels (spiked wheels) can pick up ink and lay it back down. They can also accumulate debris that collect ink and put it down in the form of streaks. This is especially true if you use dusty or moist papers (or frosting sheets).

I get a vertical line tried cleaning tried the option where you press button till 3 lights come on"

If a blank document also has the same line. then the cleaning routine which sucks ink from the cartridges via the printhead, is futile.
You have a contaminent in the paper path itself that will either require some disassembly to find and remove or you can try a trick that doesn't:
- Use a sheet of high quality plain bond paper, make a streak across the page with (preferably pure) alcohol.  - Feed the page into the printer and force the paper to feed through several times. - It helps occasionally if you can grab the trailing end of the sheet and hold it for a second, then let go again, then repeat. This cause the drive rollers to rotate against the paper, hopefully where the alcohol streak is.
This will sometimes dissolve and remove whatever it is that is in the paper path.

I620 scanner

Is the scanner scanning normally otherwise? Try scanning a printed matter with white background and if it is okay, then the streaking may be because of excess brightness chosen. Check if the paper movement is at constant speed. If it is smooth paper, it may slip and the same area may scanned again, appearing like a streak.
