Go here to get the drivers:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Choose motherboard as the component
Choose Socket 754 as the next choice
Then click on your model (K8V-MX)
I'm thinking your CD may be damaged.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You can find manuals and drivers at the Asus site >> www.asus.com But in the position you are now and your computer wont start try do this
Start it at safe mode pressing and holding the F8 key while booting. Use your original Windows XP pro CD to repair/restore your windows installation
Just follow the onscreen instructions.
If that wont work you may need a technician to remove your had disk, take copies of any usefull data you may have on it, reformat your hard disk and make a new windows installation.
Try to upgrade to windows Vista.

Audio driver problem install

Hello sir, hi, if you have problems installing a sound driver, this is usually caused by a MESSY registry system, you need to completely remove the previously installed wrong driver. The best way to go is to back up your files, then reformat/install a fresh copy of windows.

About a problem when reinstalled the widows os

Hello, You may be able to get a model number and manufacture off the graphics/video card. Then go to manufacture web site and do a search for the model # and driver. Hopefully this will help. Let me know and maybe we can try something else. If you can't find driver give me Model and Manufacture. Thanks

go to your motherboard website and find the model that you have, than see if it tells "Windows Vista ready". or update your bios to a newer version.
