How do I unjam it?

first, remove both rollers with the film on them, then I usually cut the film between the red/orange rollers and the rear gray rollers, this allows you to run the laminator in either forward or reverse to unwrap the laminator, there is not exact science here, just use common sense and don't use anything sharp up against the rollers. While I'm laminating, the roller stops turning. I have to manually turn it. It works for another foot or so, then stops again.

It sounds like a broken tooth in the roller gear. It advances about the same as the diameter of that roller. Best just replace it.

Engraved / carved markings or scratch in laminating roller

probably will be best to junk it and get another one as the cost to repair will probably exceed the new cost.

Engraved / carved scratch or markings on laminating roller

If possible, then even out the roller so its plain. Else you will have to replace it, which is probably more expensive than getting a new one.

Paper **** inside

Probably rolled itself around the rollers. Got to be real careful to not have any exposed inside surface (of the laminating pocket) showing since that coating is heat-activated and sticky.

Unplug it, wait for it to cool, flip it over and remove the screws holding it together.

If the laminating pocket is just physically wrapped around one of the rollers, it will come right out. Re-assemble and go back to work being careful not to put anything through that is the least bit curly.

If the laminating pocket is stuck to one of the rollers, just chuck the thing out and buy another one. The cost of parts and repairs will exceed the cost of a new unit. To remove the adhesive, one would have to disassemble the entire motorized assembly and then heat the "offended" roller to more than 180?F to get the adhesive to soften enough to scrape it off. Then, while it\'s still hot, one has to use a solvent matched to the adhesive to remove all remaining traces (\'cause if there is any left, it will just suck the next laminating sheet right around the roller and you\'re back where you started).

Remember:

- Use only laminating pockets for that brand (different models may have different temperature ratings). If the clerk says their laminating pockets are universal, ask the Clerk to guarantee in writing on his company\'s letterhead that they\'ll be responsible for any damage / repairs / replacement. They won\'t.

- Don\'t put anything that\'s curling through.

- Don\'t put anything through where part of the inside of the laminating pocket is exposed (because as it heats up it will stick to anything and everything it touches)!

How do I remove adhesive from rollers?

I have had this issue before when the laminating sheets were put in incorrectly (open side inserted as opposed to closed side inserted). Unfortunately, the manufacturer said that the machine is not repairable, and I had to replace it.

Paper rolled on heater roller. How do I remove?

I fix roll laminators for a living. Its best with GBC machines to remove wraps where the film is stuck to the roller hot. trying to remove ilm adhered to the roller cold can not jusst remove the film but the rubber roller surface. Do note GBC heat rollers espically the red ones are over 500 bucks each:( Its easy to damage those rollers making the machine junk....
