How do I fix the speaker sound on my iphone 4s?

The sound only works with the headphones and sometimes when I plug in a power charger. On rare occasions, it will start working for a little while but then stop again. SIRI sounds works. Alarm sound works. Speaker sound does not work when watching videos, listening to podcasts, music, etc.

SOURCE: iphone external sound

You need to clean the heaphones entry. cut the head of a ear cleaner so it's the size of the hole, with a little cotton left. Dump it in little alcohol and use it clean inside the hole. worked for me like magic.

SOURCE: iphone sound not working?

the iphone thinks it is still docked. Turn off the phone, then turn it back on and it should clear it. if not try restoring the phone in itunes.
This problem should not continue once restored, and if it does then see the people over at an apple store so they can make sure your phone is ok. They might even replace it for free.

Iphone 4s sleep button, speaker, microphone, headset jack are not working

It probably fell onto the headphone jack and something got messed up there. That's a problem that you could maybe fix by taking it apart and reseating the button actuator. If it fell onto the button, it may have pushed the actuator farther into the phone. The button pushes down on another button inside that is part of the actuator module, so may have been pushed around.

My speakers haven't been working properly for a while and I was wondering how to fix this. They sometimes work (very rarely) but then they just cut off, the music will still be playing but I won't be

If it always works with headphone - without fail - then it is likely the fault is within the headphone socket. You'll appreciate that when you plug in headphone, the speakers in the laptop are cut off - which is a mechanical break in connection caused by the plug. Sadly, it sounds like it is staying disconnected.

Corrupted software

It isn't often that Apple gives specific directions about how to fix your problem! Restoring the iPhone 4S will erase everything on it, so make sure everything on the iPhone 4S is stored elsewhere prior to restoring. To restore, connect your iPhone 4S to a computer with iTunes installed. Click "Restore" on the iPhone 4S summary page (click on your iPhone icon on the left menu to find this page). Follow the directions to restore. If your iPhone 4S displays the text "Please wait. Very Low Battery," leave it plugged in. This charges the iPhone 4S enough to be able to restore. If the iPhone 4S hangs on this screen for long periods of time, you may need a new battery.

Force restore mode

If your iPhone 4S is hanging with an Apple logo, or exhibiting some other software problem that prevents iTunes from recognizing it, you can force it into recovery/restore mode and then use iTunes to restore the software.
If the device is powered off, plug one end of your USB cable into the iPhone 4S and leave the other end disconnected. Press down on the Home button, and keep holding it down while you plug the USB cable into your computer. After 5-10 seconds, you should see a "Please Connect to iTunes" image on the iPhone 4S, and iTunes should prompt you to restore the software; follow the prompts and the instructions given above.
If the device is powered on, hold down both the power and home buttons until the device reboots and displays the "Connect to iTunes" image (generally, 5-15 seconds).
God bless you

Left earphone broken

Bad headphones/speakers

It's unlikely your headphones or speakers are bad, but it's worthwhile to eliminate these as the source of your problem at the beginning. Try your iPhone with another set of headphones or speakers just to make sure that the problem is with the iPhone.

Bad audio jack

The most likely cause of audio output problems on iPhone 4S is a bad audio-out jack. If you have determined that the problem does not lie in your external speakers, you should replace the headphone jack.
please follow the steps and fix it.
