Exact same problem...then the digital co trolpanel (made of plastic) burned up...it cost $450. to have that repaired andthen 4 month slater it fried again...we have had nothing but bad experiences with both Frigidaire "Professional series" ranges and refrigerators...instead of fixing the problem Frigidaire's customer service response was to offer me a 10% response on a new Frigidaire appliance. Gas oven not getting hot - glow bar works but no gas to burner

This happens when an oven igniter (glow bar) is bad. The igniter must draw enough amps to turn on the gas to ignite the flame. If you have a square shaped igniter use this part#5303935066 If your have a round shaped igniter use part#wb2x9154. These igniter will pretty much work universally for most gas ranges or ovens.
  1. Remove the racks
  2. Unplug unit
  3. Take out the screw holding the bottom pan
  4. Remove screws holding manifold where igniter is attached
  5. Remove manifold cut wires about 2in link from igniter and clean leads.
  6. Unscrew and remove igniter
  7. Replace Igniter with new one and fasten onto manifold
  8. Clean wires and screw on ceramic nuts to wires
  9. Tuck wires back and Reinstall all components
Test your new igniter. You might notice it taking a little longer to light up but that is okay.
Please let me know if this was helpful by rating me a 4.
Thanks so much have a great weekend.

Will not dry clothes

How old is the dryer? The ceramic ignitor piece may have partially broken off. It gets very brittle over the years. Look for a broken piece laying below where it sits. If you replace it, do not touch the ceramic part of the ignitor or it will not work right. Sometimes it's just as simple as a corroded wire connection. I once worked on a 25 year old Kenmore gas dryer that would not ignite. With the power cord unplugged, I disconnected and reconnected all the wire terminals inside and tried it again it worked perfectly like it was new.

Oven wont lite. broiler is ok. why? is this something i can fix myself?

Hello- Gas ranges have ignitors that light the burners. The lower burner is accessable by removing bottom pan in oven. Ignitor is held in place by two screws. Connector is plugged in behind bottom drawer. Check resistance of ignitor - should be 4ohms or higher. Sometimes they just break. New part available thru local app. parts. 50-75$. Be careful installing new part- ceramic ignitors are fragile. Take your time- toughest part is reaching in to do work. Hope this helps.- Thanks- ED

Top burners on Frigidaire gas stove come on but the oven will not.Whats the problem?

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symptoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

HOW DO REPLACE AN IGNITOR FOR A WHIRLPOOL GAS

Remove the oven bottom and the burner. The ignitor is removed from the burner and it will either be a direct plugin or will be attached with the supplied ceramic wire nuts. Do not use regular plastic ones they melt.....

Igniter wont stop firing

Make sure that the small burner holes near the ignitor are not clogged. if no flame is visibly touching the ignitor, then the ignitor will not sense that it is lit. The fact that it seems to take longer to light than normal leads me to this as well.

If there is good flame contact with the ignitor, then sometimes it will not sense the flame if you had a boilover and water got down between the wire and the ceramic body. This can happen with oil as well. Removing the ignitor (carefully! if you crack it, it will "leak" its spark and not work properly), cleaning it and letting it thoroughly dry will help. Most of the time I just leave the burner on and the clicking will stop after about a minute when the whole assembly heats up and drys out.

If all that checks out, then the ignition module is bad. Mine went out after 6 years use. They are available online (I bought mine from a Viking parts store...surprisingly). Replacement is fairly easy. Turn off the power to the stove. Remove the screws that hold the burner knob/oven knob faceplate to the range (Two are only accessed by opening the oven door, the rest are tucked up at the top of the faceplate and under the top-front lip of the range) The ignition module has many wires attached and they are easy to remove. MAKE SURE YOU ATTATCH THE WIRES TO THE NEW MODULE IN EXACTLY THE SAME SPOTS ON THE NEW IGNITOR. That includes the same ignitor wires that are all colored the same.

I absolutely love my Bluestar. I wish my convection fan was quieter, but the power of the range is simply awesome.

Hello, I have a Frigidaire freestanding crown series gas range that has two problems. The most important being that the oven does not light. The stovetop lights, except one burner that you hav to light...

I figured it was the ignitor given the burners work fine and I could smell gas from the oven when I would try to turn it on. So I found a local parts store and bought the replacement ignitor. I cut the wires of the old ignitor close to the ceramic and spliced the new one on with porcelain nuts and voila my oven now works again!

My ge gas range will not heat up

Inspect the ignitor for a crack or break in the continuity of a ceramic ignitor. If you can't visually discern a failure, then a multi-meter is need to check for resistance through the ignitor.
