How do I turn off my ipod

As far as I understand it the older nanos does not switch, when you have finished listening to your music you slide across the hold switch and this will put the nano into a deep sleep mode. For the newer nanos see this article http://ipod.about.com/od/introductiontotheipod/f/Cant-Turn-Off-My-Ipod-Nano.htm will explain how you can turn them off. Hope this helps.

Dont even know how to turn off nano ipod or get my music have managed to download music onto ipod that is all thanks any helf or instructions would be good

As far as I understand the nano it does not switch off it goes to sleep which is a low power mode so don't worry but when you put it to sleep remember and put the hold button on and that will stop it from waking up and using power.

Also a manual for the ipod nano could be found here

The new ipod nano

How old is it? if it's under warranty apple may fix it.
Simply, if you charge your iPod through you computer then the battery could be damaged. USB ports only put out 5 volts. If you have an AC charger that puts out 9.5 volts then consider charging it with that. Some AC adapters only put out 5 volts for the purpose matching the USB standard, but it's not good for the ipod.
