Unable to open certain attachments with Yahoo Email

I have been uable to download attachments sent to me if they are in Microsoft Word or Excel. I get to the dialog box that saying downloading and it just keeps going for a long time never opening up and does the same thing when I try to save it. I have waited for over an hour before and still nothing. Now if I forward the email to my hotmail account I can open it. I called AT&T and they said it has nothing to do with their side.

When i open an attachment in my email i goto windows media center i need to goto the attachment i'm tring to veiw how do i get back to viewing the attachment ?

What type of attachment it is? Is it JPEG(image), or Word File or , Excel File? To open the file type you should select the proper application. You can try the following thing while opening your e-mail attachment. right click on the Attachment which you have download and select Open With. It'll show you the list of application through which you can view your attachment. In your case i thing Window Media player is selected by default that why when ever you try to open it keeps on opening in Media Player.
First try to know what type of mail attachment you are getting, If you have Word file then select Open with "Microsoft word", If any image then Select "windows picture and fax viewer".
If it is a .PDF file type then you should open it with Adobe Reader(IF you don't have Adobe reader then You need to download it from net to few it.
Similarly if it is ZIP. file then you must have Win ZIP software to open it.

I hope you understand what i mean to say and Hope it'll work for you. :))

We have a desk top computer with Windows XP as the operating system. We need both Office 97 and Office 2007 on the Computer. When we open an email attachment that some one sent us in Word 97 the computer...

You need to install the Compatibility pack to open Office 97 file in Office 2007. You can download the Compatibility pack from the following link:

This guide outlines how to use a simple Excel password recovery application to crack lost or forgotten passwords, allowing you to unlock password-encrypted Microsoft Excel documents quickly as possible.
Step 1: Download and Install the Office Password Recovery Utility To perform the following recovery steps, you'll need to grab the download of Office Password Recovery Pro, available directly here. (2.1Mb)
Once you've downloaded the program, run the install with the default options.

I want to recall the last email sent

Hi Pete 1221,

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, then you can recall the email you sent by going to the "Sent Items" folder then open the message click on the ACTIONS menu on the top then choose "Recall This Message". It should be able to get the message back, unless the recepient already read the email.

I don't know about the programs, but some of the programs have something similar to this also, so you need to check HELP function of the program. For online emails like GMAIL or Yahoo! it usually doesn't have the option to retrieve the message back after you sent it in.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

I am unable to download a file. Please call me. 303-995-4469. I need to download that file today. ceredussault@msn.com

Have the person that sent you the email - re-send that email. Then instead of opening that email attachment, save it first to a location on your hard drive.

then you should be able to open it safely and completly.
