Question about IBM ThinkPad T43 Notebook

The keyboard is typing a 5 instead of an i, a star instead of a p, a 4instead of a u etc. How do I restore it to its original state? I am using a wireless keyboard because I can't use the keypad. Help!

I think you'll find that the NumLock was left on when you disconnected the external keyboard, and numbers (shown on the laptop keys in blue on the right side of the keyboard) are in use instead of the normal characters. Just press the NumLock key, usually near the top right of the keyboard.

Sounds like your keyboard drive is not set right. Do you have a special keyboard with programmable functions? Try changing your keyboard driver. Google your keyboard model + drivers and see if one comes up you can download. Then replace current driver and see if that resolves your issue. It's not a laptop is it? If so, that's another matter.

Generall there is a Fn Key somewhere, down by the Shift-CTRL-ALT Keys, or perhaps holding down the shift key, and tapping the required key will access the "Other" funtions of the keys.

I am trying to restore my computer to original state. Was told to use Ctrl F11. This doesn't to anthing. Help

don't hit ctrl f11 instead hit F8 and then go into Dell Factory Image Restore, that will wipe, format and reinstall all the factory software that's stored on the Recovery Drive.

or reformat your laptop using your cd

Hp mini keyboard shift key 2 does not type @

it has to do with your keyboard setting, currently you are set to the united kingdom keyboard layout, you will need to change this to Unite States settings assuming that you got vista, you will need to do the following

goto control panel
click on regional and language option (there will be a pop up)
click on the keyboard and languages tab
click on the change keyboard button (another pop up will appear)
click on add
and add the United States Keyboard
change the keyboard setting on the upper drop down menu to United States, and then click ok.....this should solve your problem.

I have the unlocking code for nokia 5800, how to type in handset

There is your unlock instructions for your Nokia Phone... Enjoy :)

***** DO NOT enter the unlock code more than 3 times on BB5 phones, if you do you will NEVER be able to unlock your phone by code *****
1) Power ON your phone
2) Type #PW+CODE+1# using your keyboard
The letter P appear after press 3 times quickly the button star ( * )
The letter W appear after press 4 times quickly the button star ( * )
The letter + appear after press 2 times quickly the button star ( * )
3) The phone will show "SIM Restriction Off," in case it doesn't unlock the phone, you will have to replace step 2 but use 7 instead of 1
4) Device is now unlocked

*** IF THE CODE IS REJECTED, DO NOT TRY AGAIN. ***

Substitute the 1 at the end with 7.

So 2nd time try: #PW+YOURCODE+7#

ie. #pw+000000000000000+7#

The letter P appears after you quickly press 3 times the button star ( * )
The letter W appears after you quickly press 4 times the button star ( * )
The letter + appears after you quickly press 2 times the button star ( * )

The phone shows "SIM Restriction Off" and is unlocked!

Compaq Presario C700 keyboard malfunction

What's your Operating System.
If you haven't tried it shutdown the computer then restart it.

I would restore the system to an earlier state.
In Windows XP you would go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore
Follow the Directions and pick a restore date before your problem occured.

This should work.

Since you say that your mom's user works fine with the original keyboard, you can create a new user copy your files to that user and get rid of the old one.
