Question about Teac PD-H300 CD Player

TEAC H300CD Player

My CD player has recently had trouble loading some CDs, not all though. Occasionally it takes time to read the track info, then it can't load the first (or some other selected) tracks. It happens with shop purchased CDs and CD R that i have recorded. Any ideas?

Re: TEAC H300CD Player

Hi, Your particular brand/model was made in the very early 2000. It is possible that the eye (optical lens) is already weak and would need replacement or calibration. You may want to try and clean the lens hopefully improving the reading capability. Some users of CD players use a PC CD cleaner to clean the eye (pls read the instructions) though this can be done by going inside the unit). Probably your best bet is to seek the services of a qualified professional. Hope this be of some help and give you ideas. Pls post again how things turn up and/or if you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Is the CD player replaceable if we can get the correct CD replacement? I've tried to get the info from TEAC and they don't answer my email.

See if you can get the exact unit on the cheap on ebay. Teac obviously does not give a rat's a-- about your dilemma .

Your laser assembly is fubar and not repairable - not cost effective.

The cd player goes into a "skipping" "playing really fast" mode occasionally. Esp. 3rd track, 1st cd. Always has.

It's having trouble reading the CDs. The thing that reads it could be dirty. But try a different cd. The CD player is getting old and if there is even a small scratch it will be hard to read it. A new CD player would be the way to go

Is there a setting that allows the cd player to automatically start playing a cd when power is applied? my player seems to do this sometimes, but not when power was recently applied... only when it has...

CD Player can play CDs automatically and for this you need to set the clock and timer first and put the player in stand by mode.

Remember there should not be any power failure and if there is any power failure then clock and timer will be reset and player cannot play the cds.

Will not read the disc

The optical lens assembly is damaged at this point. the lens has burned out and the tracking/load motor seems to be faulty as well. replace the optical lens asap.

Identical problem with my 4-month old player. I mailed the unit to the repair shop noted on their web page (Montebello, CA). They "re-soldered a loose connection" and made a "mechanical adjustment". I got the player back in two days. It now works fine (again). Under warrenty; no charge.
