Question about Microsoft Office Word 2007 Upgrade Version for PC (1 Computers) (059-05442)

Work 2007 closes each time I close a document.

I work mostly in Word 2007. It is annoying, though, each time I close a document and want to reopen another, I have to open Word again. It closes the program each time I close a document. Any ideas?

I tried the suggestion six times, going back and forth checking and then unchecking the "display all documents in one window", but didn't see any large X for the program or small X for the document. When I closed the document, it kicked me out of the program, too. Is your suggestion for Word 2007? This version is troublesome for me, what worked in previous version won't work in Word 2007. Thanks for trying; would appreciate any comments you have.

In multiple windows on the taskbar when I have UNCHECKED "Show all windows in taskbar." The first recommendation was to uncheck that option, which I did. Regardless, every time I close a document, it kicks me out of Word. I was cleaning out one of my folders the other day, I would close the document, it knocked me out of Word, I'd have to open Word again and then delete the document. A real pain.

In order change this settings Click this Office Button, go to Word Options then advanced. In the Display section Uncheck "Show all windows in the Taskbar"

This will display all documents in the one window with a big X to close the program and a small x to close the document.

Hmm, this solution was for office 2007.

When you have multiple documents open do they display in a single window or on multiple windows spread across the taskbar?

Are you sure you are clicking "Show all windows in the taskbar?"

Got me stumped. unchecking that box should move all your documents to the single window.

    loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');

    1. Click the Microsoft Office Button, click Word Options, and then click Advanced.

    2. Under Display, click to select (or click to clear) the Show all windows in the Taskbar check box.

    3. Click OK

Excel 2003 worksheet slow in 2007

Hi Lee, I have recently experienced the same thing. When Excel 2007 or later opens an Excel 97-2003 .xls file, there are major issues of speed. The file is opened in compatibility mode. The best thing to do would be to open the file, then save as (keep the same name if you like) an Excel 2007 .xlsx document (or .xlsm document if there are macros). Close the file, then reopen it, and the compatibility mode issue will be gone. You can now use the newly saved file as a normal Excel 2007 file. Hope this helped.

I can't find my auto saved document

Step 1:
What sort of document IE: word , excell , office ......

Microsoft Word's AutoRecover feature periodically saves your document while you're working in it, even if you forget to save it manually. If you close the document accidentally, Word closes improperly or you unthinkingly write over a document or change something important, this function can save you from losing all your work. Although Word doesn't AutoSave constantly, it might have automatically saved your lost document more recently than you manually saved it. Word 2010 makes this rescue process even easier than earlier versions of Word; it stores all recently AutoSaved versions of your documents under the "File" tab.

Open the document for which you lost information. For example, perhaps you were working in a document that you had previously saved, but then Word closed and you lost your most recent work. Click the "File" tab. Click on the most recently AutoSaved version of the document under the Versions heading, next to the "Manage Versions" icon. An Untitled, Unsaved Document b> Open Microsoft Word. Even if you never saved the document, and you can't find the file on your computer because you never gave it a name, Word might have saved a version of it. Click the "File" tab. Click "Recent" on the left column of the File screen. Click the "Manage Versions" icon at the bottom of the middle column. On the drop-down menu, click "Recover Unsaved Documents." Word presents an Open dialog box, taking you directly to the Unsaved Files folder that Word automatically created. Click on the document that you want to open, then click "Open" at the bottom of the dialog box. Click the "Save As" button on the yellow bar that appears above the document, below the Ribbon; in the pop-up menu, give your document a name, choose its storage location on your computer and click "Save."

Hi Team, I have created macro in MS Excel2007 and after executing macro output file will be created MS Excel2003. Once MS Excel2003 file closed and reopen all the formating lost. How can overcome this...

It is unlikely that you can really overcome this as Office 2003 and Office 2007 have completely different file formats and structures. But if you output it to an Office 2007 file and use the Microsoft converter for Office 2003 than it may work. The converter can be found here

Microsoft word document does not open

hi gvenkatmd,
please make sure:

  1. that you are using either the original microsoft program (Office)in your case(not an illegal copy) or try to open that file using any other textprogram(like freeware openoffice)
  2. try to find out if it's attributes have not been set to write protected(right-click the file, goto properties and perhaps untick the box write protected)
  3. think if the file perhaps rest on an non-alterable volume such as a CD (you will have to copy it to your harddisk before you can edit/change it
  4. the file format simply may have been set wrong, so that if you try to open it(right click start button, goto explorer and search for the file in all your drives, then right-click file again and see if it works with any other program
good luck

Microsoft word 2007

Open Word 2007 and create a new document, then save it and close Word. What happens when you try to reopen the document you just created?
If you still get the error, go to the Office button in the top left corner of your Word screen and click the "Word Options" button at the bottom of the resulting screen. Select Resources and run the Office diagnostics from the link provided. Also make sure you have installed any applicable updates.
