Method 1: Check if the bars still keep flashing in safe mode.
Step 1: Try to boot in safe mode with networking and check if you still have the issue.
You may refer the link below for safe mode.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Step 2:If you do not have any issues in safe mode with networking try inClean Boot to check which software is conflicting.
Please refer the link to start the computer in clean boot.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the troubleshooting, make sure to boot your computer to normal mode by following the step 3.
Method 2: Run anti-virus scan.
Run Safety Scanner.
Please refer the link for assistance.
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
Also if the email prompted you to reply with any kind of personal information, not to give any information as that is definitely a scam.

How to fix an 8-blink code?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Blinking codes details of many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "Brand Name" (Exclude the model number) to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

I am having an issue with IE 7 i tried to down load IE8 and it seemed to down load correctly but it would not allow me to view web sites even tho i was online. I then did a system restor to befor the IE8...

Hi
First you have to determine whether you are actually online. Do this: START, RUN, CMD. At the C: prompt type ipconfig /all. You'll get alot of numbers and letters but the one we're most interested in is default gateway with numbers like 192.168.0.01 etc. If this is very similiare then type PING sony.com at the c: prompt. If you get a message back that says reply ... then you have an internet connection. Now you'll need to get some things before we proceed. Go to a friends computer or the public library and download AVGFREE.exe, MALWAREBYTES.exe and SUPERANTISPYWARE.com. Put these on a flash drive or cd and run them on your computer. This will positively eliminate and bugs or hijacking. Once completed go to START, RUN, CMD and type SFC /scannow at the c: prompt. This program will check and correct all of Window's protected files. Have your original Windows cd's handy because it may ask for them. Once all this is done you should be able to load IE 7 or IE 8. I would get clean copies of these before you attempt this. Again, a friends computer or the public library. Good luck

Unable to set clock to the correct time

Can get the PDF of the manual on line and pg 8 tells you how. Basically you hit the title button till time is displayed. (Title button is on the right of the screen) Then hold the title button down until time blinks (hour blinks) to the dial and turn the dial and the hour will adjust. Then press the mode button (the one just below the dial) Then turn the dial again to fix the minutes.
