Oven Lock stuck open before start of self-cleaning cycle

I startred a self-cleaning cycle on a frigidaire stove but I pulled on the oven door accidently before it locked shut and now it won't shut because the lock is stuck closed. I get a flashing lock light and a "dr" code on the panel when I try to set self-cleaning cycle again. I locked the oven door and set the self-cleaner. When the cleaning was done (I thought!), I tried forcing the lock on the oven door open. It would not open, and I kept tugging at it. Finally, I gave up until the next morning. The lock slid open like a charm, but now my oven door won't close all the way. Can you help me? Thanks!

I have the exact same problem right now with my Frididaire oven. I don't know what I did, but the lock is stuck out and the door won't close. It says "dr."

Sounds like you bent the door where the lock is. You might have to replace the door.

I can't get my clock set on my GE stove model # JB645DT1BB It said to hold for 3 seconds to change the time but it doesn't change. HELP Please

To Set the Clock
The clock must be set to the correct time
of day for the automatic oven timing functions
to work properly,The time of day cannot be
changed during a delayed cooking or a delayed
self-cleaning cycle,
1. Touch the Clock pad twice.
For models without a Clock pad:
Hold the + and - pads for 3 seconds.

2. Touch the + or - pads.
If the + or - pads are not touched within one
minute after Step 1, the display reverts to the
original setting. If this happens, repeat Step 1
and reenter the time of day.

3. Touch the Start/On pad until the time of
day shows in the display. This enters the
time and starts the clock.
To check the time of day when the display is
showing other information, simply touch the
Clock pad. The time of day shows until another
pad is touched.

The control panel is flashing F1 oon my stove. A technician told me that parts were no longer available. I think the stove is about 15 years old and I don't have the model number with me at this time....

The code is: 'failed thermistor control' and the bad part is the 'electronic range control'. Look inside the oven door opening edge for a model number--usually an aluminum plate glued to the surface. Once you find the model number, get on the internet and search (GE mod#, part). If doing your own repair, be sure to remove power by pulling the plug or switching off the appropriate breakers.

How do I replace door handle end cap on model JGBP34GEP3AD

The liner on the inside of the door has to come off by removing the two large screws, you can probably just pull the liner back to get to the end cap screw.

Hotpoint self cleaning oven won't heat

maybe a bad connection with the heating element. Check to make sure bottom element is pluged in all the way. May need to be replaced if anything looks strange (ie. burnt spot, hole, srrange color, or maybe no external sign)

Electric coils do not work

Check the connections on the back of the oven feeding the elements. If good, follow back to control switch and check everything there.

Oven doesn't light, ignite

I assume it a gas operated oven. In the past I have gotten the gas company out to reajust our stove at no cost. If it is a gas unit you need it readusted before it cause damage to your house or life.

Replacing oven burner element, the lower element, for a GE stove

(I think it is 50 watts or volts??)
Most electric ranges are supplied with 220 volts - this is, especially at 60 Hz, deadly. You were lucky this time.
If the wires are not welded onto the element contacts, they might be so-called 'quick-disconnects' that pull straight off of blades that are part of the elelment.
You probably haven't hurt the range with the momentary short circuit since the chassis of the range is connected to neutral or ground so you just gave your breaker a workout. BTW, I have had to replace late breakers after they tripped. They wouldn't stay reset any more even after the problem was removed from the circuit. Don't be surprised if yours doesn't stay reset; it may not be a fault causing it.
