What is fuel mixture on 25 cc craftsman weedwacker

This small engine needs a 40:1 ratio. Use only 2 cycle oil, not motor oil. If you are mixing one gallon of fuel use 3.2 ounces of the 2 cycle oil. This should give correct mixture so you do not get lots of smoke when you start. Take the time to measure. Note: there should be a marking somewhere on the engine about the mixture.

I have an older echo blower. just had it tuned up and adjusted and still running poorly. just wondering if it is my fuel mixture of 25;1

25:1 may be too rich a mixture. Clean your spark plug well. Then get some good synthetic 2 stroke oil and try a 32:1 mix or a 40:1 mixture. Here is a fuel mix chart for you use.

I can tell you the OM for my Power Mac 320 model 600021H, serial 11-18555 says 40:1
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
I purchased mine used and have always operated it with a 50:1 mixture.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Engine quits

16:1 is WAY too much oil if you are using decent synthetic oil. 50:1 will be much better - regardless of what it says on the gas cap. Oils are much better now than they used to be.

Contrary to popular beleif, more oil does NOT help a 2-cycle engine. The oil (which does not burn) displaces fuel in the mixture, so there's less fuel than there should be. That means the mixture is LEAN, and lean mixtures run hot.

Also, check for a partially blocked muffler (likely with that much oil in the mix). This will also make the engine run hot.

I use 50:1 in everything.
Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL suppliers recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 2gal premium/8oz chainsaw 2-cycle engine oil - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (1gal premium/2.6oz Stihl 2-cycle engine oil)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few weeks. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH
