Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Dell computer, 2007. When I try to access an attachment someone has sent on my email the final box that comes up denying me access says "you have a dialogue box open, close this first". When I close the email dialogue box then of course the whole process is terminated. What can I do?

Have gmailaccountnot receiving mail sent to me

1) Do the parties have your correct email address. Test at least one of the parties by requesting they use the link in your email to reply to you rather than their contact list in one single email when you know they are online. If you get it from them and not the other parties, then just perhaps the others are sending to an old email address.

2) Have you searched all of your mail boxes? Sometimes a rule has been applied that filters your incoming mail and sends it to an unexpected mail box in rather than your primary mail box.

3) Have you checked your spam box. Most of us have had some mail sent to spam that was not.

4) Consider changing your password to your email.

5) Is no email coming your way or just mail from a particular party? Compose a letter to yourself and email it to your own email address. After all, no mistaking that address!

6) Have you installed any new security software? And, just maybe your own antiviral is blocking something malicious that has attached itself to an email sent your way.

7) Sometimes email gets stuck in a server somewhere on its way to you. For instance, if someone tries to send you an email with an attachment that is larger than what the email server allows, it gets stuck in their outbox and you don't get it. There may be NOTHING wrong on your end, in such a case.

Try to access your Email on another computer like the library or a friend's - you may have a virus and someone is trying to spoof your account.

Recently someone received an email that appeared to come from my email address but I did not send the email and no one has access to my computer other than me. Also I do not give my password to anyone....

Generally no! But are you sure someone did not see the passord you typed?

Check in the sent box of your account to see if there is a record of the mail being sent in the SENT BOX. If not then someone used your account elsewhere. Public PC's are often risky if you dont log out They also have key loggers on them put there by hackers to gain access to accounts of all kinds.

Change your password to a longer sequence and use ascii characters It makes it more diffoicult to crack

eg /mi*ke?>jones\

You might try to change the file name. Most email systems struggle with any kind of punctuation in a file name. Please check the file name which is denied to sent. ( If this solutions helpful to you please rate it)
