Question about Tempur-Pedic TP4000 Ergonomic Fabric Mid-Back Task Chair, Beige

Open Question

How do you keep the back from sliding down?

This is for the TP4000 ergonomic mid-back task chair. The back of my chair clicks up and clicks down, but once I get it in position, it doesn't stay in place. How do I keep it from going down once I've got it up? Also, I can't read the forward-most lever that is under the seat because it is too far under the seat. The lever goes back and forth, parallel to the floor. What is it for?

The height-adjustable seat back of my chair tends to fall down, as if it is too loose. Is there an adjustment to tighten this?

The "softness" is similar to shock absorbers in your car. They get tired with time. Most likely you will need to replace those parts. Or a lightly used replacement may be more cost effective.

How do I lower the back?

To lower the back, lift it until it stops firmly. Now let it fall all the way down. (It might need a little push to go all the way down.) To raise the back, lift it slowly until it clicks once. Each click is a height setting; it will stay at that height. Repeat until the back is high enough. To go back down, start over.
(This definitely applies to Tempur-Pedic TP4100 Office chair.)

Are rocking chairs comfortable?

Rocking chairs are very comfortable. This is because they have an ergonomic design, which keeps the body in the recommended position at all times. So even if you sit on the chair for a long period of time, your neck and back are in a healthy position.
