Question about HP Computers & Internet

What is largest HDD and mem card can I put in HP Pavillion ZV5000

What is the largest HDD (120GB or 320GB or 500GB) and memory (1GB or 2GB DDR) can I put in my HP Pavillion ZV5000??
My HDD just died and I might as well upgrade the memory. Also I would probably have to update the BIOS firmware??
Which hasn't been done and my laptop is fairly old.

Yes, regestered EEC modules are "buffered", so you should be ok at 2 gigs.

1. Has anyone installed 2Gb RAM memory in a Sony PCG-TR3A? please give details of memory specification. 2. Has anyone installed a HDD bigger than 40GB? please give me details of HDD specification.

Hi,
You can only upgrade the memory to 1GB in that model Vaio laptop.

The memory supported is DDR SDRAM which runs at 333MHz. There are 2 memory slots which support 1x512 module in each slot.
I recommend Kingston RAM as the manufacturer.

As for the HDD the laptop supports EIDE (IDE/ATA) hard drive. you can have anything up to 320GB. Seagate are excellent drives as well as Fujitsu.

Regards.

Upgrade this notebook

Hi,
Yes you can upgrade that notebook.

The notebook is sold with 1GB DDR SDRAM which is upgradable to 2GB RAM, 2 slots 1x1GB in each slot.

The hard drive is usually 120GB SATA which you can put any drive in up to 320GB or 500GB (if you can get on of that size)

The processor is a core duo. It is upgradable but i wouldn't bother with that as 1.6GHz is more than sufficient.

Regards.
