There seems to be a problem with the upper part of these remote controls. They work for a while and go out. I have replaced 5 for people in the last 3 months. The store where most of these were purchased gave me new fan, and let me bring back the parts that were bad. I did not have to assemble another fan, just change the bad receiver on the remote. I hope they work as well with you. I think they know there is a problem with them.

on some you hold down a button on the remote control while you turn power on .. you keep the button pressed for maybe 20 seconds .. i dont remember what button but probably fan on or light on .. the receiver acquires the code from the remote .. if you still have trouble i can probably find the specific instructions ..

I'm assuming your fan is connected to a switch on the wall,if it doesn't turn the fan or light on,as your remote doesn't,then your electrical wires have come loose causing you not to have power to fan,you will have to remove the parts to get to your wing nuts holding your wires together to make a good connection and put electrical tape over wing nuts and wire to keep together, vibration will cause them to come loose, make sure you turn power off at breaker.

after changing the batteries make sure you didn't change the remote code. If you didn't there should be a reset button inside the battery compartment, it may just look like a small hole. Just use a toothpick and insert it into the hole and lightly depress the reset switch.Replace the battery cover and try using the remote again.
