Question about Phones
After a power outage, our Avaya Partner Advanced Communication System phones are messed up! We have not contract with Avaya so they won't help us. Have had the system since 2004. It only does one half ring, then goes directly to a recording says the party is not available (sometimes only say ''goodbye'') If it does say our unavailable, it let you chose a different extension or the receptionist. When you chose receptionist, it rings and then say the party is unavailable, and gives you the same options again. The intercoms do not work at all. I can call out with no problem, and can answer a call if I am quick enough to catch the caller before they hang up, since they can't actually get anyone. Date and time are set for 01/02 Sun 6:00pm. now. It is actually 03/12 l:08pm. Any ideas? The manual is pretty much GREEK to me! Talks in circles.
Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

Those are 2 very different questions. Since you both have display phones, look at them. A 7731 on a TA system changes state with the * button. There are 3; Extension, Time, Time & Date.
When she calls you, your Auto Answer button is probably lit. Press it so it turns off and haver her call you again. It should ring, but not always. The button can control a couple of things, according to programming. Now, have her press her AA button until it lights. Now call her. Voice call?
If none of this works, please provide your cabinet model number. It's listed on the side of the cabinet where all the phones plug in.

To program a page button for other extensions.
At the phone, press Feature 00
press the LIGHTED button you want to program.
press the LEFT intercom button, followed by * (star) and the 2 digit extension number.
Repeat for more buttons.
Feature 00 when done.
Now you can just press the button, and it dials intercom *10 (example)
it will activate the speakerphone and you can talk.

see if the DND or do not disturb is on. It should be a lit button programmed on the set, if its not programmed press feature 00, press a blank button and press feature 01
