How much will it cost to repair a leaking head gasket on a 2000 ford focus se?

Header gaskets are fairly expensive to replace. It depends on the labor rates of the repair facility. I would try to find a local community college that has an automotive degree program. Usually they will charge much less for the fix (to help students learn) than a garage. If that isn't an option I would replace the head gasket and not the whole engine. Of course, if there is other damaged caused by the leaky gasket that is another story. There is a lot of labor involved with replacing a header gasket. I would say anywhere from $500 to $1000 anyway. Hope this helps.

Ford taurus coil pack labor hours

Go to a dealer and ask for the time to replace the coil packs only. There are books available that have labour times for most aspects of repairs to most vehicles.

I have a 2001 Ford taurus, it was running rough at times, then ran well for several days, then could hardly run it was missing so bad, and dyed, found water in oil and on oil filter, could you hlep?

Hello! The chances that your vehicle needs to have the Head Gasket replaced are high...I'll give you the labor figure shortly...Drain the oil...Replace the oil filter, the PCV valve and the gas off the radiator and see what you have...Small amount of money commpares to the following...6.2 hours at approximately $100/Hr. to do only one side...Both sides=8.2 hrs@ $100/Hr....If inexpensive fix does not work the head gasket (one or both sides) will have to be replaced..Shop around...Guru...Saailer

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus that is overheating when driven only a couple of miles. I had the dealer check it out, and they installed a new thermostat and flushed the radiator. It appears there may be a...

This problem is commom with the ford taurus. to check for a blown head casket ; you can pull your spark plugs and check them to see if any of them has moisture on them and also while the plugs are out turn the motor over and see if there is any water any any ofthe cylinders; But no you dont have to pull the motor out. i just went through this with my taurus it wound up costing me around $800.00 . getting the heads checked and resurfaced was the most exspensive part. i done the work myself so i didn't have any labor cost to put out other than the work on the heads.

Blown head gasket on 97 ford taurus

A used engine that may have less mile than yours will cost anyway from $500.00-1,000.00 plus and additional 500-850 more labor to install engine. Here is amy advise if your engine is in good condition I would definitely do the head-gasket job on it. That should come out to be less money and you know what your getting. More than likely you would only need a head gasket job and have head cleaned and polished and would NOT need to replace actual heads. Good luck and Thanks for using FIX YA

Blown head gasket

Unfortunately there are too many things that could be wrong Most mechanics will not be tied to a price because the head gasket alone is probably not the only fault.Generaly the head itself is the culprit for the symptom your giving. It may be corroded or cracked and may not be repairable. Then theres all the other bits and pieces like hoses, thermostat etc.Once its all apart and can be inspected you will get your quote, head is usualy sent to machine shop to be inspected and a price for repair/replacement is given by them.Usualy takes a couple of days to get a full quote unless your mechanic has all the nessecary tools and equipment to do it on site.Good luck and hope it all works out ok
