Question about Nintendo Wii Remote Control 4 Charging Dock Station with 4 Battery Packs
Have had for a few years, love it.. the remotes wont' hold charge anymore, assume the batteries are just shot. can't find anywhere and was told that l had to buy a whole new charging system with remotes. really?! please advise. thank you, g
Sadly that's how they make the new rechargable batteries for controllers. You are supposed to recycle that and buy new. Luckily you can find chargers for the wii very cheap nowadays. I have used a few different chargers and have found the Nyko brand ones are junk so steer clear of those. The Duracell induction chargers however work very nicely. You just set the wii remote down on the charge pad and it charges fairly quickly. My kids run around and even if the remote shifts a bit it will continue charging. Hope this helps!

Normal or alkaline batteries cannot be recharged. Take out the old batteries and put in new ones. The recharger probably discharged the batteries.

SOURCE: wii remote
Try to resync your remote. To do this:
1) Locate the red button under the battery cover on your remote.
2) Locate the red button near the sd card port on your console.
3) Press both buttons within a couple seconds of each other.
4) Wait a few seconds if your remote doesn't sync, retry.
Good luck. Please rate, thanks.

Is your charger a usb type? if it is. and plugs into the wii unit it will only get power to charge when the Wii unit is powered on. I hope this helps.

Make sure your charger is plugged in your Wii AND turned on. If you do this, the remotes should charge.
If the remotes still don't charge, there's a problem.
