What taskkill does is kill the camera applications that is using the

Check to see if you have the machine switched out to a stand alone monitor. This is a feature on many lap tops that lets you re-direct the signal out to a larger monitor, or if your monitor fails you can display the computer info on another screen. This feature is engaged by holding down the Fn key and tapping teither the F4, or F6 key on many lap tops. This feature can be toggled by both displaying at the same time or switched to the stand alone or the Lap top.
The other cause is that the machine has malfunctioned usually because of the CPU failure and there is nothing to boot the machine up.
you could use a cleaner from Kensington (http://www.kensington.com/html/1081.html)
to clear LCDs and it works great. It comes in a little spray bottle, and I use these neat little 3M 'electronics' microfiber cloths to buff off the spray. Works like a charm.
you can buy a wireles linksys usb for your lap top and have a wireless router linksys stationary and the lap top usb ..... will pick up the signal for your lap top, i have a usb port linksys and it works great, but u do need a router in your home to pick up the signal
So, if your motherboard is turning on and the fan comes on than for now you can check to see if your back light turns on for your lcd panel by going to a dark place and turn ont he laptop there. Than check if you see a faint light that stays on or a flicker. If you see a faint light or the display is dim than it is the inverter on the lcd panel otherwise you may need to replace the video card which can be integrated onto the motherboard and may require a new motherboard. All depends on the model you have.
You probably have two choices..one of them is obviously to if it can defy gravity on top of a tall building. The other is to press function and the up arrow to see if you can max out the brightness. You should also try to increase the light within windows control pannels or right mouse click the desktop go properties then to the display options to increase the gamma or lighting.
Another option is to see if its worth getting a new screen as cheaper alternative to replacing the whole computer. You may only want this if you are happy with speed of your laptop right now.
