Question about D-Link DWL-G650 (ASKU19364) Wireless Adapter

D-Link DWL-G650 occasionally causes crash

Installed on Dell Latitude D-600 laptop Windows XP, occasionally when plugging in Adapter it will cause computer to make momentary crashing sound, along with a momentary blue screen/white lettering covering full screen (lasting less than a second) followed by a blank screen, computer shutting down, then rebooting normally.

This does not occur everywhere, only occassionally....I suspect only certain wireless networks cause this problem.

Thx Pete

The issue is most likely with the pc slot on the motherboard instead of the card, try other cards on the slot and see if the problem happens again. Most likely the issue is on the motherboard.

you could try difffrent drivers on it.

Wi-fi card on Win98SE laptop not allowing internet to connect.

I really believe this is some kind of driver error. You must first remove the existing driver and then install the following driver.

If that doesn't work we're gonna have to try messing with the wireless router settings.

Wireless cardbus adapter

Hi,

To be able to download the appropriate driver, you need to specify the revision of the DWL-G650 (Rev A, Rev B or Rev C. Rev B has 5 sub revisions while C has two).

Pls go here and enter "DWL" thereafter "G650" and then click on the revision number of your unit.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Dwl-g650 wirless card

you have the driver instaled for the card, but is the cardbus controller installed, go to device manager and look at pcmcia line and see if controller is there, or whether there is an exclamation mark on other unknown devices. You will need to go to the compaq site and identify the driver for the pcmcia controller
