Clean pump light whirlpool 6th sense WFS1072AW 7.5KG

I followed all the instructions on how to clean the filter at bottom of machine & rotor when the clean light comes on. HOwever there was a small round peice of white material in there that looked like it should be part of the filter but it wasn't attached to anything and was just scrucnched up in there. Is this a part of the filter or just a random rag that found it's way in there? if it should be in there how do i put it back on correctly?

SOURCE: front loading whirlpool machine WFS1072AW which needs pump clean

WFS1072AW has a clip in panel at the bottom across the front.
Removing this will reveal a black plug on the right.
Unscrew this and water will gush out along with (hopefully) the offending coins.

What does F7 mean on a whirlpool 6th sense washing machine?

Hi,
F7 in whirlpools means "Clean the filter”.
The following troubleshooting steps would help fix it. Remove the filter on the floor of the machine, including the metal grill. Press & hold the start button (like you do when you want to cancel a program this will drain the water out of your clogged up drain outlet. Clean your filter and grill and replace it. My guess is that the sensor in the drain (a little glass tube) measures whether the water going out is clean enough to decide that your dishes are now rinsed correctly. If your filters clogged, the water going down the drain is still dirty. After a while it gets sick of trying and stops the machine.
