Thanks...I did speak t a Epson service shop, they said it cld either be a power supply or the board.....if its the power supply, it won't be that much (around $100), if its the board then around $200...i am talking about Canadian dollars.

Maybe I will just sell it as is....the problem is that I still have a lot of ink in it.

I have the exact same problem. I think it is the power cord as well and we have a **** load of ink too. Sucks!

I appreciate this is not what you want to hear but unless your power cord has a fault, a fuse that's blown, etc... then it's likely that your printer has essentially died and gone to inkjet heaven.

It's likely that repair will need a service center and a high cost (unfortunately)...

Don't just throw it in the bin though... The parts are well worth something to enthusiasts and repair techs so if you decide to get rid of it, put it on ebay as spares & repair and get at least some of the money back.

Sorry to be the messenger on this one..

For $200CAN I'd say get it serviced... a Brand new R1900 (the next generation up) would be considerably more and with all that ink you'd be losing a lot more.

Just to check (as I didn't think to ask), I'm assuming you are not seeing any other lights or activity at all from the unit, (ie: any sound of movement, etc...)

Replace main board epson r1800

I'm having the same problem. I was wondering if the Epson board was the same as the Anajet board or was there a difference.

Anajet board is $800 and a new Epson board is about $225.

I'm willing to gamble on the Epson. Dont really want to spend another $1K on parts.

Check that the Fuse F1 on the Power Supply Board has not blown.

R1800 Won't Power Up

Just check the power cord of your printer it maybe don't have any lost connection or change the power cord. If did not work also their was a problem of your powersupply. You need to bring it to the electronic center technician for the proper repair of the power supply.

Epson R1800 Printer turns OFF

Here is my solution to your problem.
Power Failure is not reason here. I think you Epson have a problem inside the circuit board.
It has two output, the PRIMARY & SECONDARY Output, one of this are not function due to power or wattage failure.
I did encounter such problem but I open my printer and I see inside its nothing but the PCB Board have leak of one of my capacitor inside.
If this case is still comes out then better to check that with EPSON PRINTER Technician.
And about resetting EEPROM it useless.
At least this information give you such ideas why you have this kind of problem. Resolving such problem are not only on talk but let our hands do it also.
I tell you one way or another, careful of that maybe it has a short circuit. Good luck!

Rebuild Epson R1800?

You could run head cleaning from the driver a few times and see if the nozzles start to clear out. If you send it in for repair they run a solution through it that is supposed to clean it out. If the solution doesn't work the head is like a $400 part.

Problem using sublimation inks

Since you are using sublmation ink, the cartridges are probably aftermarket and may not meet Epson standards. Aftermarket chipped cartridges are notorious for failing to 'communicate' with Epson printers, even when the cartridge is brand new. Before taking the printer to a service center, you might try purchasing new cartridges of your ink from your reseller. If that fixes the problem then your fight is with the ink reseller, not Epson. If it doesn't fix the problem and your printer is still under warranty, take it to an authorized service center, and remember, using non-Epson ink does NOT void the waranty.
