Which phone (make and model) do you have? On some devices, the SIM card tray is like a very tiny optical disk tray. Find a spot with a small eject hole (like on the emergency eject on tray style optical drive). Push on the opening with a straightened paperclip.
On some models, the SIM slot may be inside the phone. You may want to check with your provider for assistance opening the phone.
