Need a wiring diagram for a model # 2680

I need know how to bypass all safety shut off switches on this mower.
(dead man) switch in seat has already been bypassed. There is a switch on the brake pedal that is malfuctioning and causes the mower to shut off when you remove pressure from the pedal.

I want to bypass all of these switches if possible

I need a wiring diagram, mainly from ignition switch to coil/stator.

pull the black ground wire off from the coil, try to start the motor,if it starts, put the wire back to shut it off,,,one or all of your safety switches is bad,you can bypass all the safety switches(as long as you dont care),by putting a switch connected to the coil and the other side,a ground,if you want safety switches then you have 3 to choose from to replace,2 stop the mower from starting and the 3rd stops it from running if it did start, here is a 42 inch, pretty much the same, you didnt tell me what model or make, http://www.ereplacementparts.com/craftsman-917279841-riding-mower-parts-c-158286_174089_460323.html

My landlords toro riding mower starts fine but as soon as i touch the shifter to put it in gear it dies over and over..carb is clean and new gas with stabilizer

There are several safety switches that prevent operation in case the rider falls off, etc. First check seat safety switch...the likely culprit. It must close ensuring a person is in the seat for movement or blade operation. Find a toro wiring diagram, or visually wire trace, or just inspect the proper operation of all safety switches. DO NOT BYPASS SAFETY SWITCHES, but ensure they are working properly for SAFE OPERATION.

Hi Tina, yes you can do as you asked and this will bypass the seat switch. No there is no need to disconnect the battery as the wires are not live unless the mower is running. Regards Phil.

My Sears push lawnmower wont start....no spark. I think it may be the electronic ignition module(?) It has always needed to have a cleaning between the ignition module and the opposing magnet to get it to...

Hello:

>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File I Made for Checking the Coil/Ign Coil/Magnetron/Armature on Small Engines. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>**To Check the Ign Coil; Remove the Spark Plug/s.
>>With a Good Plug, Wrap a Wire Around the Threads of the Plug and Attach the Other End of the Wire to the Engine Block. >>Remove the Blower Housing (metal engine cover). The Wire that is Connected to the Coil/Ign Module from the Shut Off Switch needs to be Removed (unplugged) from the Coil/Ign Module.
>>Now Check for Spark at the Plug.
>>If Spark, then the Shut Off Switch or the Wire is Bad.
>>If Still No Spark, then the Coil/Ign Module is Bad. If there IS Spark, then, If there are Safety Switches on this Unit and the Coil is Good; you Need to Check the Safety Switches for Being Bad and Check the Oil Guard Switch also.**
>>The Following is an Instruction File for the Safety Switch System. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>The Color Code of the Wires May be Different than those I Use as a Reference in the Instruction File.
>>**PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHECKING THE SAFETY SWITCHES IS JUST THAT!!! FOR CHECKING ONLY.
>>I NEVER Suggest a Mower be Operated with a Safety Device or Switch Disconnected or Bypassed.
>>**Now. On Some Model Mowers you can Simply Unplug the Safety Switch from the Harness. On Other Models you have to Place a Jumper Wire Between the Harness Terminals (on the 4 Post Switch (Clutch/Brake) Jumper from Same Color Wire (Example: White to White) First and then Check for Fire, Now Include the Black to Black Wires if No Fire. Check the Clutch/Brake and the Blade/PTO Safety Switches First. Then Check the Oil Guard Switch (if Applicable). Check the Seat Safety Last. Usually the Seat Safety is Not in the System for Starting the Engine. Just to Ensure Someone is in the Seat when Engaging the Transaxle and/or Blades. Use a Paper Clip or a Short Wire to Make a Jumper.**
>>Use a Multimeter and Check the Continuity of the Switch. The Meter should Show when the Contacts are Closed and Open. The Meter will Swing All the Way Over when the Switch Contacts are Closed and Swing Back to the Rest Point when the Switch Contacts are Open.
