You can restore a recent configuration backup from diskette but if you don't have a backup you will need to rebuild the configuration from scratch. You may also have a failed hard drive or a failed supercapacitor that did not retain memory when the power was cycled. These components will need to be replaced before you continue with reprogramming.

Philips 50PF9630A/37 plasma TV will not power on and has a red blinking light - 6 slow flashes then 3 quick flashes . I've been having the issue on and off for about 2 weeks. seems like when I ...

The TV is forced in standby because an internal fault has been detected. 6 blinks slow and three fast blinks points at defective Ysus board or defective buffer. The power supply must also be tested. Till now the TV was starting because when you disconnect power you discharge internal components. Some of the components have the role of storing charge (the capacitors). If a capacitor is defective the TV may still work as other components will compensate the function of the faulty part. After a while more components will fail and the TV will not start anymore. To fix the problem the TV must be tested at component level. Testing will start from PSU voltages to YSus and buffer boards.

I have a ViewSonic VA902b that will flash a good screen if I turn if off and on but otherwise just black. I traded it out with the monitor from another computer and it does the same thing on the other...

To start test the problem on a different main outlet, if the socket or the network in the house is not well earthed you may get this problem.

The problem is given by an internal faulty component, probably a faulty capacitor.

When you unplug and plug back, the electrostatic charges in internal circuit will get drained, and this will compensate the fault.

The monitor must be tested at component level to find the fault.

T.v.shuts off.

This television is experiencing a component breakdown. This is probably from a overheating problem. The break down component is probably a capacitor. The component has lot its ability to control it operations. When it fails the television goes into the protection mode. This allows the component to cool down and to heal itself temporarily. This will not last and you will need to have the television test for faulty components. The repair of this should not be too expensive. You should call a service center and ask for a estimate of the repair cost before taking it in to be repaired. You may be able to do the repair if you have some experience working with electronic test equipment and tools. you will need a large work space, screw drivers, soldering iron and some test equipment.A digital multimeter will be needed to test some components, if a solid state component has become faulty. Usually a diode or transistor. The repair will require good soldering must visually inspect the circuit boards and replace faulty components as found. Remember these are high temperature components and need to be replaced with the same high temperature ratings. You may want to try cooling the television with a constant cool air flow to save it from further damaged. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

V.35 Cable Local Loop

If your trying to establish a loopback for the Data Terminal Equipment, you seem to have satisfied the RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR loopback. At the V.35 end of your cable, you need to loopback the SD (balanced pairs) to the RD (balanced pairs), as well as insure that you have a valid clock source. Usually the DCE provides clock on a balanced pair SCT, SCR. towards the DTE. But, when you build a loopback cable or adapter, you can obtain clock from the DTE via the SCTE pair and tie it to the SCT and SCR balanced pairs. A lot of the requirements depend upon the DTE and DCE equipment your testing. Hope this helps...

Sounds like the microphone in the handset came loose or went bad. Turn the phone off. Press and hold buttons 1, 2, and 3 while turning phone back on. This puts you in self test mode. Follow instructions on screen until you get to audio loopback test. Put phone to your ear and talk like you normally would. If test fails the mic is bad. Take it in to a service center.
