SOURCE: HP PAVILLION F1703 GOES A SLEEP AND CANT TURN ON WITH OUT RESTART

July 2010

I have 3x F1703 screens, which Ive had in store, due to the problems of powering up the panels. Basically as descibed here, panels would go out.

After reading this posting, I decided to strip the 3x Panels down, as I was going to dump them anyway, in the past fear of attempting to open the cases and breaking meant I never got around to attempting to fix.

The front face comes off with a bit of difficulty, via prizing open using a kitchen knife,,, with 3 panels I had practise, so do take car. Work from the bottom edge of your panel.

On opening, you have a secure backplate you have to remove by unscrewing 12 screws, this then allows you to flip over the panel and to get to the control boards.

My first screen was damaged, but this had a later Processor board but an earlier power amp board...I salvaged the amp board with torodial coils. then used this on the 2nd panel - this now works fine!

The 3rd Panel, is also a early 2003 model, but again has a slighly different amp board, Im going to have to canablise the boards from 2 panels to make one good one.

The POWER fault was FOUND TO BE none other than a loose soldering on the power connector to the amp board, the solder was cracked and only needs to be soldered!

thats todays job, re-solder the amp board power socket and hopefull 2 out of 3 panels will be working once more

Hope this has helped

Thanks for the article as its enabled me to fix 2 panels, with thanks to you all

SOURCE: when i turn on computer

this sounds like the screen may be trying to display a resolution higher than the screen can support. Try booting up in safe mode and seeing if you can see your desktop. Also is this the only monitor connected to your PC or is this a dual screen setup? If it is dual screen you may not have your second montor turned on.

How to reset an ipod touch

HI

Soft Reset 1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the unit until a red slider appears
2. Drag the slider.
3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Hard Reset Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. The screen should eventually go dark and the iPod Touch should restart and allow you to use it as normal. The music and other media on the device should be preserved after these steps as long as there wasn't a malfunction that caused data loss.

If it still don't solve your problem go HERE to find more infos.

Hi.
Here are some solutions for your problem provided by apple.
Resolution

If a single application is not responding or freezes when it opens, you can force it to close:

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
  2. Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.
  3. If the device does not return to the Home screen, see the steps below to restart.

If the iPad is unresponsive or certain controls aren't working as expected, try restarting the device:

If there is no video on iPad, verify that it has enough charge to turn on:

  1. Connect iPad to the 10W USB Power Adapter with the Dock Connector to USB Cable.
  2. Let iPad charge for at least 20 minutes, then see if it starts up normally.
  3. If there is no image on the iPad screen, press the Home button to attempt to wake the device.
  4. If the iPad screen displays a red battery icon, let the iPad to continue to charge until it turns on.

My phone is stuck on the slide to power off and cancel at bottom i cant slide or hit the cancel key. do you know what i can do to resolve this problem

Try a reset.

Hold down the home button (bottom middle)
and hold down the Sleep/lock button (top right)

Hold them down until the screen goes black, then once the Apple logo appears. Let go and let the phone restart it's self. That's a "reset" on an Apple device.

Sleep mode is blinking. i cannot restart

Have you tried holding the power button for a few seconds till it restart. If that does not work try removing the battery. Once you get it started go to power options and turn off sleep mode and hybrid sleep under advanced settings.
Thanks for using FixYa

My computer will not go to stand by or sleep mode

Were you able to make the computer go to sleep mode before? Well what you can try doing is go to start, run and type msconfig, click ok. You will get the system configuration window, then go to the startup tab in the system configuration window and at the bottom of the window there is a button as disable all, click that and on the same window there are startup items, select the antivirus program and items that you would need to have at the task bar. Then click apply and ok. You will get a message to restart the computer. Click restart. As it restarts you will get a message saying that you have used the system configuration window, click do not show me the message again in the message. Also you can go to start, right click on My computer and go to properties, click the hardware tab, and select the device manager button. That would show you the device manager window. From the list of hardwares listed in the window, right click on network adaptors, properties and under the power management tab uncheck all the power options checkboxes. Now you can close all the windows and try to go to sleep mode again. You can also try disconnecting the USB devices as you try going to sleep mode and see if that works, if yes, try connecting the USB devices one at a time and check again.
