How to get sound from a nady audio 4130 mpm 4 channel power mixer

First, plug it in. Next connect the speakers. Center all eq controls both master and channel. Turn off any reverb or effects. Turn the master volume 1/2 way up. Plug a sound source into channel 1 wiyj the channel volume all the way off. Turn on the amp. Slowly raise the channel volume until you heat output. If you get nothing, it's broken.

Speaker humms only. what causes that?

Incorrect connections or volume settings.

• In powering up, mixer first then amp

• In turning off , amp first then mixer

If hum still persist, without the mixer connected

then speaker amp may need servicing.

No low end from speaker. Sparks came out of backplate when switching the plug from jacks. Now the horns are only thing that works

If you failed to turn off the amp before changing speaker cables you have fried something. Since the plug shorts when unplugging, if the amplifier were on, the amp would sense the short and will often fry the amplifier or the speaker. You don't mention what the amplifier was. If the speaker were daisy chained to other equipment a ground loop probably formed and blew out the woofer. The horn often has Peavey's "SoundGard" circuit so it probably survived. NEVER change speaker cables while amp is on. ALWAYS secure the 1/4 inch type cables through the handle of cabinets so they can'tbe inadvertenly pulled out and burn up equipment. Your amplifier driving one of these should be rated at no more than 200 watts RMS. These "400 watt Prrogram" ratings are for the birds... fake advertising. Put 400 watts into this RMS and it blows out.

Amplifier head is working but no sound from speakers. Head tested with external speakers and is OK.

A simple test is to connect internal speakers across an AA battery (for about half a second) & listen for a click as battery is connected & another as battery is disconnected.

If this does not happen, check the internal jack plug connection & its connection to the speakers.

If OK, then you can test each speaker individually using the same battery across each in turn.

If this advice is helpful, I would appreciate a rating.

Left speaker won't turn on, even if i plug the power lead from the right one in. What can i do?

This is a problem that may likely require the skills of an experienced repair tech. If you are not comfortable working on electronic devices, find someone who can do it for you. UNPLUG YOUR SPEAKER BEFORE INSPECTING A PROBLEM.

The first place I would look is the FUSE. Each of the speakers contains a power amplifier and each has a fuse that will blow to protect the power transformer, circuit and speakers. If you are getting NO POWER at all to the speaker, check the fuse first. It is located on the AC plug circuit board.

You can download the PDF for the HS series here. It includes all of the circuit diagrams, parts lists and close-up photos of the parts.

If the fuse is not the problem, the speaker's power amp has suffered more sever damage and you would certainly need an experienced technician to diagnose the problem.

Good luck!

I have a 1995 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, I giged out and when the amp was on for a while it would shut down i would wait and in a few min i could turn it back on. I loooked around and discovered i had the...

This PROBABLY was not the problem. When you plug into the EXT speaker jack, you connect to a 4 ohm tap on the output transformer instead of an 8 ohm out as it anticipates you have an 8 ohm plugged into the main and you are plugging in an additonal 8 ohm speaker to bing the load down to the 4 ohm tap. You will have less output plugged into the EXT jack and MAYBE you tried to get out the same volume level in which case you may have been overdriving which is very hard on the output tubes... possibly you colored the plates in them and the unit shut down for that reason.
There really isn't any thermal shutdown sensor BUT if the amp still has the problem when configured correctely, suspect the NTC (negative temp coef) device that limits the inrush current. These heat up and lower their resistance as power is turned on to reduce the surge when turning unit on. These have a habit of degrading, cracking, and failing. The device is should be near the fuse holder as it is in series with a wire from there to the power transformer. It will be about the size of a quarter and three times as thick as the same. It will have two leads coming out the edge and likely will be black in color.

Speaker has become crackly, only when i play certain notes though. I tried a different cord and bass and its definitely the amp. I have never turned the volume over three quarters, Should I just switch out...

Before changing the speaker, check for debris or other things in the cabinet or grill that MIGHT be rattling..

Also, plug in an external speaker to the ext jack and see if it is clean.

By mistake i plugged the speaker jacks from another amp into the speaker jack on my mg 50. i was trying to test the other anp with the speaker on the marshall but i did it wrong. i didnt turn the marshal...

If you connected an external speaker plug from one into the same type plug on another amp, you have driven signals backward into the amp that was off... NOT into the speaker in that unit.

The usual result is blown parts in the amp that is off.

Some amps have their own speaker cable that you can unplug to connect to another amp and that is fairly safe. NEVER run an amp without a speaker load on it.

No sound coming out of speakers when turned on

If you get absolutely no sound, not even a pop when changing the standby switch, this probably means the rectifier OR the switch has failed. The red light just means power is getting to the power transformer... probably fuse is OK.

Phonic Helix Board sound problems

You don't specify which model Phonic mixer in question.
Is it a powered mixer ? And are you plugging your speakers into the speaker outputs ? If it's not a powered mixer and you're plugging speakers into the Line Outputs, you're not using a power amplifier between the line outputs and your speakers - this won't work.
If it is a powered mixer and you are plugging speakers into the speaker output connectors and still getting little or no sound, check your speaker cables and the speakers themselves by plugging them into known good amps.
