It is not picking up anything although just emptied and cleaned

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC35 doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, there may be a blockage in the floor tool, wand or bin inlet. The filter may also need a wash.

In normal use, we recommend washing the filter at least once a month using cold water without detergent. Allow at least 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

Our online support guide will walk you through each of the checkpoints needed to locate and remove any blockages: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc35/dc35-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/check-wand

This should resolve the issue, but our experts are on hand to provide further assistance if you need it. You can reach us by calling the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson dc 50 is not sucking intothe canister

Hi, it's Jack at Dyson.

It's normal for dust and debris in the clear bin not to spin. There are ribs called 'baffles' at the base of the clear bin, which capture debris and force it to settle. However if the machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, there may be a blockage in the cleaner head, internal hose or airways. This is quick and easy to check for and resolve, just follow the steps shown in our online Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc50/dc50-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usualdc50/dc50-clearing-the-brush-bar-video

You may also want to give the two lifetime washable filters a wash using cold water without detergent. In normal use we recommend washing the filters at least once a month. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them in the machine.

I'm confident removing any blockages and giving the filters a wash will restore full performance to your DC50. But if you'd like some further help from our experts after giving this a try, please call the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Hi Diane, it's Jack at Dyson.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If you've accidentally picked up water with your DC35, please do not continue to use it. Dyson vacuums are not engineered for picking up water or liquid spills, and further use could cause additional damage to your machine.

At your earliest convenience, please get in touch with our experts directly so we can help you check your DC35 for any damage. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Loss of suction and sounds like motor is juddering after a few seconds use

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A pulsating sound from the motor, along with a loss of pick-up performance, will be due to a blockage somewhere in the machine - in the cleaner head, in the wand, or in the bin inlet. For help checking for this and removing any obstructions, please take a look at our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc35/dc35-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/how-to-wash-filters/check-wand

You may also want to take a look at the video below for guidance on removing any threads, hair or other obstructions from the brush bar and cleaner head.
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but for any further assistance please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,
