Camera is in military time. How do I change it?

Sorry, there is no way to change this on the camera. However, if you want to print the time stamp in 12-hour format, it can be done. Simply set the camera to NOT date stamp your photos.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. The program should also give you some control over the format of this data.

I have a samsung es15 and cannot get the time correct even by selecting my time zone - it say am when it should be pm!

I know this might sound silly, but it is possible it is displaying in military time. So, 1:00PM would be 13:00, 2:00PM would be 14:00. Etc.

Hope this helps. If not, here is a link to download the user manual for this camera:

I found that there is no specific way to switch it to 12 hour time vs. 24 hour military time.
Just found the instructions for setting the time from the menu.

Why can't i change display time on camera from military to regular time

Because it's a Japanese camera. Most of the world operates on a 24-hour clock and consider this the "regular" style.

Change the batteries message even with new NIMH RShack batteries

The solution is to change the small 'date/time' battery. You can have the regular batteries as charged as you like, it won't make any difference. The tiny date/time battery is in the same compartment as the regular batteries, on the opposite side of the hinge. Extract it with a fingernail, it is situated on the left hand wall of the battery compartment (when the camera is inverted and the compartment open).

Charging Problem

Sounds like the circuitry that controls the charging of the battery has gotten damaged. You can try using regular non-rechargeable batteries if the camera can use them. Otherwise you will have to find another way to charge the batterys, if you can find an external charger for the batteries that should work too. Hope this helps.

Camera looses date & time setting

There is a cmos battery (or a memory battery) on the main circuit that like any battery wears out eventually. If you are familiar with repairing electronic circuits you can get the part from Olympus. There is no part number just "memory battery for C-740" will suffice. Your other two choices are to take the camera to a shop where they can do the kob for you. Don't let them sell you a complete new board, you don't need one. Not for this problem anyway. Or you can ignore the problem and reset the camera (or not)each time you change batteries.
