1998 Toyota Corolla radiator heats up (gauge goes full) every time I turn on the AC Fan for 5 to 10 minutes. This is happening with or without AC on. This model has Fan seperate from AC which gets turned...

Most overheating problems are caused by a stuck closed thermostat, if it has already been replaced the next common cause is a clogged radiator, have it checked at a REAPIR SHOP OR RADIATOR SHOP IF YOU REMOVE IT YOURSELF

Started running hot when the ac was on. when i turned the ac off the temp. went down. when i got in a 25 mile speed zone the temp went back up.

If the clutch on your radiator fan is broken the fan will not spin fast enough to cool the engine. Make sure your fan shrouds are in place, otherwise the air will not be sucked through the radiator properly.

Your radiator may be clogged, the radiator cap may be broken, the thermostat may be sticking, a hose may have collapsed

Hello jhonney21,

The P1491 is Radiator fan control relay circuit code. It is set if an open or short circuit is detected in the radiator fan relay control circuit.

Is the radiator fan the same as the cooling fan?

The cooling fan is used to cool the radiator.
There is a sensor that turns the fan 'on' if the radiator gets too hot. A light comes 'on' to tell you the fan is 'on'.

If the fan ran all night the sensor is bad and the (sorry for the pun) the idiot light is on to tell everyone something is wrong and it needs service.
DON"T run your car with out the fan!

Hi I have a Central Pneumatic model 94667 air compressor that was working fine, now it will not shut off when it gets to the usual shut off pressure. thanks. George.

make sure it is actually achieving full shutoff pressure. I had the same compressor and had a valve crack and the compressor would run nonstop but never got above about 40 psi.

Radiator Fans

You may have air trapped in the cooling system, this causes a hot spot and the fans run, This is a common issue on most front wheel cars, jack the front of the car up as high as you can, fill the coolant reservoir full, run the engine until hot,( don't overheat it) then shut down, let the engine cool, this should self bleed the air, refill the coolant bottle and retest for your problem, restore the wiring, the not running fan is for AC. Spray cold water from a hose on the radiator his will help get the air out after the shut down.
