Question about Xerox Phaser 8500/DN Printer

Xerox Phaser 8550 Won't Print

We're not getting an error code, but no jobs will print out. The diagnostics work fine, a test page prints, but no job sent from a network computer will print. The network is up and running fine; jobs will print on other network printers.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Check the troubleshooting display on printer screen and look under networks. My printer was doing the same thing and it showed a network link error-I don't recall the code that it listed on the display. It seems the electronic module has failed and while the printer thinks it's hooked to your network; it's actually timing out and not getting the message to print documents from the network. Cost of new electronics module to repair is $515 plus labor.

    @kwilliams

The network diagnostic shows no errors.

I was having the same problem. Turns out the IP address in the printer was incorrect. Once I changed the IP address the printer works just fine through our network again. Find your IP address off your server and follow these steps:

1. Choose Info on display menu, press okay button
2. Choose Info pages, press okay
3. Configuration pages-printer info, press okay
4. IP address should read: Correct IP Address number should be displayed on screen.

If not follow these steps to change it:

1. Find printer setup on display menu, press okay
2. Go to connection setup-press okay
3. Network setup-press okay
4. TCP/IP setup-press okay
5. Auto should show as “Off”
6. TCP/IP should show as “On”
7. DHCP/Boot should show as “Off”

If any of these are not listed on display correctly press ok, reset to either On or Off and then enter correct IP address.

Press okay button and follow steps on display menu to exit back to main menu display screen.

I am having the same problem now, the printer ip address is set manually to 192.168.1.100 to avoid this kinds of issues of the computers looking for the printer on another ip it previously had.

It's best to assign the printer a dedicated ip but you should probably make it a higher number than the other computers on the network so your dhcp server doesn't mistakenly assign another computer on the network the same ip address as the printer (my current issue), I don't know why my pc is being allowed to get assigned the same ip which was already manually programmed into the printer. (This is why I suggested using a higher number ip for the printer to avoid such conflicts).

It's an easy fix, reboot all the devices unfortunately for me I have a lot of open windows and processing some important info now and cannot shut down my computer now however the rest of the network is suffering now because there is an ip address conflict.

If you go to the printer control panel and go to troubleshooting and network the printer will issue a code and tell you the problem.

For me it said Duplicate IP address must be resolved for TCP/IP to function properly followed by the ip address and the mac address of the conflicting device.

Hope that helps.

Try printing a light stripes test page (Troubleshooting, print quality problems, troubleshooting print quality page).
If you have loads of missing jets, run a couple of head cleans, if you see improvement, it is worth running some more, if not, try switching off overnight and rebooting next day. If it still won't clear, you may have a faulty printhead.
If you do not appear to have many missing jets but the colours are all just wrong it may be that the ink has gone stale. Run a couple of head cleans and you should see the colours start to improve. If it is getting better, all you can do is keep running head cleans until you have replenished all the ink in the printhead well.
Hope this helps.

Phaser 8550 printer fault 37,008.44:25860

This is a pre heater error.

I would make sure the printer is connected directly into the wall and not into a power strip or UPC as these devices may create momentary AC voltage sags that could cause this error. If power levels going into the printer are good, you will need to contact Xerox for support

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I have the Xerox Phaser 4510, I would like to know how to print one page for both sides? Thank you

There ia a duplex unit that you could buy and attach to the machine.
Alternatively when you select "Print"
Select the option to print pages in the range "odd pages
When the job is finished place the printed documents in the manual paper feed and select "Print" again and the option to print all the even pages.
You will also have to check a box to print pages in reverse order or vice versa depending on the order the first batch were printed.
A bit of trial and error might be required before you get the correct solution. Hope this helps??

Xerox Phaser 6100 will not print

Yeah you need to replace that imaging and transfer units for it to print. That has a counter on it and once it comes up with that message it will not print anything.
NOW THE WARANING. Once you replace the unit. Everything you have sent is in the memory and will print out.
What you will want to do is once it starts printing, continue to cancel the jobs until they are all out of memory. Believe me, the jobs are there....

Solution --> ERROR 0082" name="Note" /> Phaser 790 / DocuColor 2006 Printer's: Cancel print job and cycle the printer's power

  • On the printer's Control Panel, press the Cancel Key (12 KB).
Note: The READY message may only appear briefly. You may need to keep repeatedly pushing the CANCEL key.
  • If the error message persists, turn the printer off for at least 30 seconds and remove the computer interface to the printer (17 KB) before turning the printer back on.
  • Use the menu keys to perform a front panel reset (under RESETS menu).
  • If the printer redisplays the error message upon reboot, a file is likely STUCK at the front of the print queue. Use the front panel RESETS menu to CLEAR LOGS AND QUEUES, which will delete all print jobs in the printer's disk spool.
Note: The READY message may only appear briefly. You may need to keep repeatedly pushing the MENU key to gain access to the front panel menu.
  • If the front panel menus can not be accessed turn the printer off for 30 seconds and then turn the printer back on.
  • If it is known which print job was last sent to the printer, try to reprint the last job spooled, which may be the cause of the error. Step 4 on clearing logs and queues may need to be repeated to eliminate the crashing job.
Note: Most XX82 or XX1E front panel error messages are NOT hardware related, but caused by a specific print job or application.
